This invention relates to combined incense burners and containers and aims primarily to provide an incense container having a cover which is especially designed and adapted to function upon occasion as an incense burner.

Contemplated by the present invention is a novel device, embodying a container fabricated from sheet metal, or other suitable material, wherein the incense either in the form of cones or powder is packed and covered with a sheet or disk of fire-proofmaterial, and a cover for said container fabricated from sheet metal, or other suitable material, 5 having an incense burning recess formed in the top thereof, whereby the same may be employed and utilized, when desired, as an in- 1 Threadedly secured upon the upper end of cense burner, all of which are importantobjects and featuresof the invention and are to be correlated in the broad aim of enhancing the efiiciency of the device for general use.

The above, and additional objects which will hereinafter be more specifically treated are attained by such means as are shown in the accompanying drawings, described in the following specification and then more clearly pointed out in the claim, which is appended hereto and forms part of this application.

Referring to Figs. 1 to 3, inclusive, the numeral 10 designates a circular and relatively top plan view of a combined shallow container or box, which may be fabri: cated from sheet metal, or any other suitable material, wherein incense cones 11 are packed in layers and covered by disk 12 of'fireproof or heat insulating material. Snugly fitting uponthe upper end of the container 10 is a cover '13 having its central portion pressed outwardly to form a boss 14:, the upper end or face of which is pressed inwardly or indented to form an axially aligned recess 15, wherein the cones .11 are placed for burn: ing, in. the manner indicated by dotted lines inFig.1and2.v

' In Figs. 5 and 6, the numeral 22 represents a rectangular and relatively shallow'container orvbox, wherein incense cones 23 are packed in layers and covered by'a sheet 24 of fire: proof material. The container 22 is provid-, ed with a sliding cover 25 having its central portion pressed outwardly to form a boss 26, the upper end or face of which is pressed inwardly or indented to form an axially aligned recess 27, wherein the cones 23 are placed for burning, as shown by dotted lines.

In Fig. 7 the numeral 28 designates a substantially square and relatively deep container or'can, wherein the incense 29 in powdered form is packed and covered by a sheet 30 of fire-proof material. snugly fitting. upon the upper end of the container 28 is a truncated pyramidal cover 31 having its central portion indented to form a recess 32, wherein an incense cone 33 molded from the incense powder 29 is placed for burning, in the manner disclosed by dotted lines.

In practice, while the several covers 13, 19, 25 and 31, employed with the various types of incense containers herein described,

' may be otherwise formed,- the same are prefs 2 V erably fabricated or die-stamped as integral structures from single pieces of sheet metal, or other suitable material, substantially in the forms and shapes disclosed, to serve and function as covers for theircorrelated con= tainers and as incense burners when required. The convenience of providing an incense burner with each incense container, as herein shown and described, will be readily apparent and obvious, inasmuch, as an incense burner is at all times available for use when desired.

Manifestly, therefore, the devices of the invention, are extremely simple, inexpensive, compact and durable in construction, are reliable and eflicient in use, and may be readily incorporated in any type or shape of incense container now. in use; 7

While I have herein disclosed my invention with sufiicient detail to enable those skilled in the art to understand the mode of construction and the principles involved, it is to be understood that there is no intentional limitation herein to the specific forms and precise details of construction of the invention shown and described, except as expressly defined by the appended claim, and that various modifications of such forms and construccomprising a container tions maybe resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or the benefits derivable therefrom.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is A combined incense burner and container having incense packed therein, a sheet of heat insulating material coveringsaid incense, and a coverfor said container having an incense burning recess formed therein;
