The slide 20 is formed with a circular recess 21 for receivingthe conventional peg end of the rollerflof a shade 22. The-shade support slide 19 is formed with a slot 23 for receiving the conventional winding stem-portionjof therollersllade 22. i
In Fig.8 a modification of the invention has been disclosed in which a shade support slide 24: is provided working within the guide 11. The slide 24 is formed with a central hollow portion 25 in which a socket 26 is pivotally supported by trunnions 27. The socket 26 is formed with an opening 28 for receiving a peg 29 from the roller of the shade 80. It is intended that the roller of the shade be provided with pegs 29 at both ends and that two of the shade support slides 2 L be provided, one in each of the guides on opposite sides of the window frame. To remove the shade 30, it is necessary that'the shade support slides 24 which support the shade be elevated to different heights. This can be done by pulling one of the cables which supports the slide and hold the other one stationary. The pivoting of the socket 26 will compensate for the angle at which the shade is moved. When the shade support slides have been moved to a sufficient different elevation, the shade will be free.
The operation of the device consists in the manual control of the cables M and 15 at the hook portion 18 for the purpose of changing the elevation of the shade roller. The.
shade itself can be moved as is conventional, that is drawn to any desired amount. The adjustability of the positions of the shade roller allows positioning of the shade, for example, as shown in Fig. 2 where the upper portion of the window is opened and only the lower portion covered.
While I have illustrated and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it is to be understood that I do not limit myself to the precise construction herein disclosed and the right is reserved to all changes and modifications coming within the scope of the invention as defined in the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by United States Letters Patent is 1. In a supporting slide for vertically adjustable rollers, a sllde member with an opening, a socket member pivotally mounted in said opening and formed with an aperture for engaging apintle of a shade roller. 7
2. In a supporting slide for vertically adjustable rollers, a slide member with an open-- ing, a socket member for engaging a pintle of a roller shade, and means for pivotally supporting the socket member within the opening formed in the slide member.
3. In asupporting slide for vertically ad- '3.'. iustable rollers, a slide member with an opening, a socket member for engaging a pintle of a roller shade, and means for pivotally supporting the socket member within the opening formed in the slide member, comprising trunnions pivotally supporting said socket member.
