This invention relates to water diverting systems or devicesespecially adaptable for obtaining water from rivers, streams and the like for irrigation and other purposes and. has for the primary object, the provision of I Another object of this invention is the pro-' vision of-means for adjustably supporting a conduitrelative to a body of water, that water therefrom may be diverted into a ditch or the like for irrigation and other purposes and which provides aportable device capable of being moved and installed at any place desired. a A further object of this invention is the provision of a water diverting device of the above stated characterwhich will be simple, durable and eflicient and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost. Y
.With these and other objects in view, this invention consists in certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and claimed. I 7 For a complete understanding of my vention,- reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawe ings, in which- 7 Figure 1 is a sectional view illustrating a water diverting device constructed in accordance with my invention.
Figure 2 is a sectional view line 2-2 of Figure 1'. I
V Figure 3 is a fragmentary perspective view illustrating an attaching yoke.
Referring in detail .to thedrawingsfthe numeral 1 indicates a conduit adapted to have one end in communication with an iri 7 I shaped screen 18 to preventfdebris and the rigating ditch or the like as shown at 2 while the other end is disposed in the riveror stream 3 that the water may be diverted from the river or stream into the ditch 2. connection with the accompanyingdrawings,
""QFrom the foregoing. description taken in it will be noted that a device has been prol9" dams and the like and the disadvantages of r videcl Which can be easily, quickly and firmly mounted adjacent to any stream, river or like body of Water for the purpose of diverting a portion of the Water into a ditch or the like for irrigation and other purposes. It is also to be noted that the device is capable of adjusting itself to accommodate for the unevenness in the ground and between the latter and the supporting means and also provides a device Which is portable and-easily assembled at any point along the river or stream Where it is desired to divert aportion of the water and obviates the expense of constructing such devices.
While I have shown and described the preferred embodiment of my invention, it Will be understood that minor changes'in construction, combination and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention, as claimed. v I
Having thus described my invention, What I claim is: i
LOUIS BLATTLER.
