During the travel of thetoy, the front axle is turned in opposite directions alternately so as to cause the front wheels to take a more or less of a sinuous course. This is accomplished through a rod 25 having one end ivotally connected with one of the depen( ing arms 22 and its ot-herend pivotally connected with a crank disk 26 secured on the inner end of the motor shaft 14.

When the toy has traveleda predetermi'nedV distance the stop 50 iscarried by the winding cord into engagement with the lower end ofthe trigger to release the trigger from the trap plate, whereupon the plate'is suddenly 'swung upwardly byv means Vof its spring which throws the fdoll forwardly vand upwardly and causes it Vto make one or more somersaults before falling to the ground. The `stop 50`is of such diameter that it will pass through the yhole in the trigger under the pull of the motor shaft, .but in doing so it frictionally engages thewall yof the 'hole sufficiently torelease thetrigger. At apredetermineddistance of travel 'after the trig-v ger has beenthus released, however, the larger stop 5l strikes'against the'lower'end ofthe trigger to prevent further unwindingof the spring, thus stopping the travel ofthe toy.
To re-set the toy, the trap plateis swung down on the topof the sled and,V kheld by the trigger. Atoy comprising a vehicle, means for propelling the vehicle comprising a springy motor, means comprising a cord acting when pulled outwardly to wind up the spring of the motor and when released to permit the spring to unwind to propel the vehicle, the cord being wound up during the travel of the vehicle, a pivotally mounted trap member, a spring tending to swing the trap mem- Vber in one direction, and a trigger for holding the trap member in position against the tension of said spring, said cord having provision of means for releasing said trigger from the trap member when a definite length portion of the cord has been wound up during the travel of the vehicle.
