Description

Dec. 15 1931. R. G. WILLIAMS I HIGHWAY GUARD FENCE FIXTURE Filed Dec. 26, 1950 m I v 1 I 1 8 m ,w.
Patented Dec. 15, 1931 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE HOLLAND G. WILLIAMS, OF BRANFORD, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO MALLEABLE IRON FITTINGS COMPANY, OF BRANFORD, CONNECTICUT, A CORPORATION OF CONNECTI- CUT HIGHWAY GUARD FENCE FIXTURE Application filed December 26, 1930. Serial No. 504,906.
in position.
Figure 2 is a section at the line 2-2 of Figure 1 looking in the direction of the right hand arrow, and
Figure 3 is a section at the coinciding line 33 of Figure 1 looking in the direction of the left hand arrow. 7
Similar numerals of reference denote like parts in the several figures of the drawings.
1 designates the posts, only one being shown, and 2 generally designates the fixture which latter has an opening 3 extending through it from top to bottom andvalso has projecting from its forward end spaced hooks 4 and 5 which extends in opposite directions, and from the rear of the fixture extend gripping spurs 6.
7 is a bolt which passes through the post, and has its forward portion formed into a opening 3, the fixture being firmly secured to the post by means of a nut 9 applied to the threaded rear end of the bolt.
When this nut is tightened it will cause the spurs 6 to dig into the post, and will thus draw the fixture tightly against the latter, as clearly shown in the drawings, the hooks 4 and 5 being spaced apart a distance greater than the width of the cable 10, and in apply- 7 hook 8 which latter extends through the condition may be positioned within said hooks, and at the other end spaced flanges for engagement with a post and provided with a substantially centrally disposed aperture adapted to be engaged by means for attaching said fixture to said post.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature hereto.
ROLLAND G. WILLIAMS.
