Description

Oct. 13, 1931. 1.. HALL PRESERVING GAME AND FOOD CARRIER Filed June 8. 1928 a Patented Oct. v V I j fa ncanon' fiiea June a, 1e23, -s iia1-" irp. attest The present invention relates to a preserving game and food carrier.
p In the taking of game or fish, the sportsman is frequentlyat a considerable distance 5 from'home, and where a huntingorfishing "trip lasts two or th y the Preserving of vthe game becomes a serious problem; 1 Even where a cooler, such as a small refrigerator, is available, the game, especially in the case of Wildfowl and f small game'such as rabbits andsquirrels, has a tendency to heat andspoil where the game is packed ina single compartment. j s
An object of the present invention is to make a game carrier having compartments therein formed by division members of ma-' terial which'will permita free circulation of airfaround the contents of said compart ments, and having a coverlng ofsporous material. i
Inorder to attain this object, there is pro- Q g V I V pins;or strlpsynot shown;conriectdtoithe vertical partition members. in a; well'know'n vided, inaccordance with oneffeature of the v invention, a frame having vertical andhori- 5 rior into compartments and having a covering of canvas with pockets sewn to-the covering near, the upper endvther'eoffor holdingice or water soaked-material, so-as to permit a the Water from themelting ice or from the; and, 2 'as xthese j supplies iarei expended during 9 p a re fto 0001 the contents f e arrier.
These and other features of the invention will be more fully brought out in the f0llowing description and the accompanying drawings, wherein: f 7 v I Figure 1 is a .viewoin perspective of the device,'with'thecover open. 1
Figure 2 is a View, also in perspective, of

canvas covering, and the evaporation of this moisture will cool the contents of the carrier. The wire mesh forming the covering 'of the device and the partition Walls therein will permit a free circulation of air about the contents of the compartments. The device may be suspended from a tree while in camp or placed upon the running board of an automobile, or stored in the baggage comparte ment of a train during transit. Thefabric 7 covering forms a protection against flies and other insects which is a. frequent cause of 2 food and game spoilage.
Instead of wire mesh for the covering and division member material, perforated sheet metal 17 as illustratedin Figure 5, may be employed. If desired, the fabric covering 13, instead of being permanently secured to the device; maybe made removable and may either be secured to the frame by means of snap fasteners in a well known manner, or
may be made tofit tightly thereon so that no fastening means are required to hold itin place. A'flap 18 having fastening means such as snap fasteners 19 secured thereto maybe employed to hold the cover closed.
I claim: i V
1. A carrier "cooler of the class'described comprising a rigid ventilated casing having a plurality of openwork upright'partitions and connecting open work shelves extending from front'to rear of said casing, a door hinged to the bottom of the front side of said casing, a porous water absorbent covering for said hinged side of the casing, a secondiporous water absorbent covering for the end walls ofsaid. casing, a water pocket secured to the upper portion of the covering of said side of said casing and water pockets secured to the upper portion of the end walls of said casing '2. 'A carrier cooler-of the class described comprising a rectangular oblong casing with a top covering having a handle, said Cooler having a plurality of. rigid partitions and shelves extending from front-to rear 'of the cooler and forming compartments, a door forming one side of said casingi'a liquid ab sorbent covering for the end and side walls v :and door of said casing, and a plurality of pockets'secured to the upper portions of the absorbent covering of said side and end Walls and door topermit any liquid contents of said pockets being absorbed by said wall and door covering.
In testimony whereof I aflix' mysignature.
