This invention relates to games and toys and more particularlytoa device `adapted tob'el mounted in a golf cup andv by means of which a golf ball after dropping `into the 75 cup vmaybe projectedupwardlyto such .a
position. that it `will either roll out of the 1 cup or may be very easily removed therefrom.
i Y f One object of the invention is to provide .a device whichwhen setyin place and properly Yl`adjusted will notinterfere witha Agolf ball dropping Vinto the cup "butat thesame time f permit the'ball to'be ymoved upwardly vand Hejected.fropmfthe"cup. n
'Another object of the kinvention 1s to so vv'form the'device that lit will limit downward movement off a golf ball wheny dropped into 'f vthe vcup and thereby `preventtheball from becomingsoiled byy contact with the bottom of the' cup and also.l prevent a .persons hands ,fromV becoming soiled bypreachingy into the cup in orderto remove a ball.
Another object of the invention is to so form l'th'efdevice that'it may serve not only as means 'for eje'cting a ball from the cup .25 Vbutalso constitute means for ysupporting a flag staff in an upright position within the y n f f lower sections 3 and l. The lower section has cup. d f
Another object of the invention 1s to pro- :vide' the device withl a latch for. releasably l 3f retaining it in ka retracted position andy so locate the latch that it may be releasedA by thrusting lthe flag stay downwardly into they cup in order to engage, the latch after a ball F .hasdropped into the cup.
f form ,theV device that the ball when dropping into the cup may move the latch to a releasing position and vtherebyfcau'se the ball to be im# ,'Anotherobject ofthe invention is to pro-rL vvide a golf ball ejecting device which is simple inconstruction and may be easily .set
. Another objectr of the invention'is *to sol mediately ejectedfrom the cup after drop-v Fig.. 2 isr a vertical sectional view showing the ball ejecting means in an extended position, 7

n Fig. a is a top plan view of the cup and ball ejecting means,
Y Fig. 5 is a view similar to Fig. 1 showing v a' modified form of ball ejector-and Fig. 6 is atop plan view of the cup and ball 'ejector shown in Fig. 5.
The golf cup, which is indicated in general by the numeral' l,is setinto the ground in theusualmanner and is open at its upper end so that a golf ball may drop into the cup. The lower end of the cup may be formed with a bottom having openingstherein for drainage, butin the accompanying' drawings the cup is shownv provided with tongues 2 at its lower end which project inwardly to provide abutments. Instead of tongues the lower end of the cup may bel formed with an inwardly extending annular flange. l,
The combined ball ejector and flag staff supportiits within the cup, as shown in Figures 1,2 and 5, and consists of upper and formed in the abutting edgefaces ofthe other section `so that when the two sections are ap! plied to each other and secured by screws 1l aassedthroughfears 12 beneath the spring support thetwo lsections will be very firmly held in engagement with each other. It should bey noted that the marginal portions of the spring support, and base are recessed, kas shown at 13 and 14, so that rain water or water from melted snow flowing into the cup may pass downwardly tothe bottoni .of the post 6 and has its lower end enlarged eXp-' .l Y ai adaptedi'o bear against the internally thickV ened nnper Fernen 01 nhnnnenti? 9th-1e Peet, and liniit upwardl movement'fof the stenn The upper section has a rcup and into-the vground beneath the cup.
