Q :My invention, relates to projecting apparatus for loose or plastic materials, and particu- 7 larlyto a curved tool for insertion into the trajectoryof materialdischarged from the i j maohine'for directing the material into places v normally inaccessible to the projecting machine. The present application is a division a bin onto an endless conveyor moving with sufficient velocity to throw'or project a stream 5 of loose material from the endless conveyor when the direction of movement of the endless conveyor suddenly changes. An example of the use for such a machine is found a in the application of repair material, such as 0 dolomite, to the interior of heated furnaces f j for restoring the surfaces of the fire walls of the furnaces. The machine is carried on a truck and is adapted for rotation about a turn table. Provision is also made for rais "25' ing or lowering the direction ofthe stream of discharged material. Such a machineis shown and described in myco-pending ap- :plication.
' The stream of projected material normally passes through an opening in a furnace wall and-the area accessible to such material is defined. by the size of the opening and the trajectory of the material passing through the opening. Infall such cases however, the inner wallimmediately adjacent the opening is inaccessible to material traversing the opening. Where. it is necessary to repair the inaccessible portions of the furnace wall it i Hhas heretofore been necessary' to permitthe, furnace to cool sufficiently for a workman'to enter the furnace and apply the loose orplastic material. As the value of certain of the materialsincreases when they are applied to a hot surface, itwis' desirable thatthe repair material be applied to thenormally inaccessible portions of the wall at the highest possible temperature of the wall.

The stream 7 of projected material is'directed through an opening17 in a wall 18. The wall 18.111213 constituteone of the walls of a furnace wherein it is desired to replenish surfaces of the walls. By adjusting the position of the truck 2 and the angular position of the projecting machine 6 thereon, it is pos-' sible to direct the stream' 7 against a lai'ge part of the furnace walls.
