7 whereby it may be actuated.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the type described which has novel means for actuating the marionette, presumably ofl' stage, so that it will begin dancing asit is moved into view. I
A further object. of my, invention is to provide a device of the type described which will move the marionette off the stage before vided for the aperture 2.
it stops dancing. p p
Other objects and advantages will appear in the following specification, and the novel features of the invention will be particularly pointed out in the appended claim.
My invention is illustrated in. the accompanying drawings forming part of this appli-' cation, in which I I Figure 1 is a front elevation of my device, and Y Figure 2 is a vertical sectional view of my device.
In carrying out my invention 1, provide a casing 1 having an aperture 2 disposed in the front wall 3 thereof. A stage floor 4 is pro- A marionette or doll 5 is provided with a plurality of threads whichare connected to the various portions thereof; Threads 6 and 7 each have one of their ends attached to the hand portions 8 and 9, and their other ends secured to actuating levers 10 and 11. Threads 12 and 13' have'their lower ends attached to the foot portions 14 and 15, respectively, and their upperends attached'to actuating levers 16 and 17 respectively. A thread 18 has one end attached to the seat portion 19 and the other end attached to an actuating lever 20. A thread 21 hasone end attached to the head portion 22 and the other end attached to an actuating lever 23.
The actuating levers are pivotally mounted at their rear ends upon a pivot rod 24 and are'held in-uppermost positions by means of like manner actuating the lever "20.
tension springs 25. The actuating levers l0. 11', 16, 17'. 20, and 23 are attached to hand by means of cables 32 or the like. Thehand levers have their inner ends pivotally levers 26, 27, 28, 29, 30,.and 31, respectively,
mountedupon a pivot rod 33. The pivot rods 2 1 and 33 have their ends extending through and rigidly held by the side walls of the casing. i z 1 a I j From the foregoingdescription of the various parts of the device, this form of my infvention may be clearly understood. The" various parts of the marionette may beactu-' atedby actuating the hand levers and in a f like manner moving thev actuating levers so as to move the various members, such as,
the feet, with respect to each other or the hands. The marionette mayalso be raised or lowered by actuating the lever 30 and in a I claim A. device of thetype described comprising a casing having a front wall,"a back wall,
and a partitioning wall positioned there-m between, a floor portion connecting the hot-- tom portion of said partitioning wall with said front wall, a plurality of actuating levers, each of said levers havingan end pivotally mounted within the casing, said levers extending beneath the floor portion and through slots in the front wall,la plurality of actuated levers, each of said levers having one end pivotally mounted within the caslng and extending through slots 1n the partitioning wall, connecting links for connecting the actuatinglevers with the actuated levers, a marionette positioned between said partitioning wall and the front wall,
as i
said front wall having an opening therein' whereby said marionette may be visible from the exterior of the casing, and means con-' necting each. of the actuated levers with various parts of the marionette whereby said marionette will make various movements when the actuating levers are moved.
