This invention relates t0 brackets for supporting window shacles, anc1 especially t-o the hood-ecl type 015 bracket employed in automobiles of the closecl types.
The brackets employed in automobiles usually consist 0f two parts, one of which comprises a f0ot proviclecl with screw-holes by which the bracket is securecl in place, ancl extencling at right angles from the saicl foot is a circular Portion in which is formecl an apert-ure, either circular o1 rect-angular, which .is aclaptecl to receive the spindle 0f the winclow shacl-e roller.
In orcler to conceal the end of the roller spindle these brackets are usua1b Provided spinclle, the hoocl being provicled with 21 flange which is turnecl 0ver the edge of the circular portion of the bracket for holcling the hoocl in place.
Brackets 01": this two-piece type involve consiclerable expense in nmnufacture, as it is necessary to provicle separate dies for the bracket proper ancl the hood which is subsequently appliecl theret-o. Also there are times when these hoocls are not rigiclly securecl t0 the bocly o;f the bracket, which 0011- sequently produces a rattle When the automobile to which they are appliecl is in motion.
The bracket forming the subject of my invention is made in one piece, and thereby obviates any noise due to loosa arts vibrating when the car is in motion; it recluces the cost of manufacture 130 a minimum, and in outward appearanc e is the same as the two-part hooclecl type bracket, functioning in the same manner as the two-piece hooded bracket in that the end of the roller spindle is entirely enclosed ancl concealed.

As above noted my improved bracket is macle in one piece ancl comprises a foot-plate l having a, flange 2 extenoling substantially arouncl the whole of the footplate. v
The foot-plate l is provicled with screwholes 3, 3, respectively, surrouncled loy angula1ly disposecl flanges 4, 4:, provicling munter sunk sockets for the hea cls of the screws by which tl1e bracket is aclapecl to be secured in place.

A onepiece hoocled bracket, for supportcomprising a single sheet metal stamping consist1ng of an element provu;lecl W1th an aperture adaptecl to rece1ve a pr0 ect1on 011 the encl 0f the roller, and an imperforate cover element formed integi al With the aperturecl element and extencling over the aperture at one sicle ol:' the aperturecl ele1nent.

A one-piece hooded bracket, for sup porting the roller of a winclow shacle and the like, cornprising a single sheet metal stamping consistixig 0f an element providecl with an aperture adaptecl t0 1eceive a projection on the end of the roller, ancl an imperforate COV- er element forrned integral with the aperturecl element and extending over the aparture at one sicle of the apertured element, said cover element being concavecl in line with the %Iperture to accommoclate ancl conceal a projection on the encl of the roller which is adapted t0 extencl through the aperture.
3. A one-piece hooded bracket, for supporting the roller of a winclow shacle and the like, comprising a single sheet metal stamping consisting of a body portion including an imperforate cover ortion, ancl a tongue formed integral with and extencling inwarclly fro1n the edge and across the center of saicl imperforate cover portion, saicl tongue having an apert'ure aclaptecl to receive a projection on the end 0f the roller.
4:. A one-piece hooclecl bracket, for supporting the roller of a winclow shacle ancl the like, comprising a single sheet metal stamping c0nsistingof a bocly portion, ancl a tongue forrnecl integral with ancl extending inwardly fr0m the edge of said body ortion, saicl-tongue having an aperture aclaptecl to receive a projection 0n the encl of the 1oller, saicl bocly portion being concavecl and imperforate in line with saicl aperture to acconnnoclate ancl conceal the encl of the projection extencling through the aperture.
5. A onepiece hoo'cled bracket, for supf pprting the roller of a window shade ancl the like, comprisin a single sheet metal stamping consisting of a%ody Portion, a tongue forrned integral With and extencling inwardly from the edge of saicl booly portion, said tongue having an aperture aclaptecl to receive a projection on the end of the roller, saicl body portion being concaved and imperforate in line with said aperture t0 accommodate and conCeal the end of the projection extending through the aperture, and a f oot forri1ecl integral with said bocly Portion and provided with an opening adaptecl t0 receive an element by which the b1"acket may be secured to a supporting structure.
