PETERS. PHOTO-UTHOGRAPHER. WASHINGTON. D C.
UNITED STA ES JEROME E. DE FREEST, OF TROY, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF HIS PATENT OFFICE.
RIGHT TO JONES W. LAWRENCE, OF SAME PLACE. I
IMPROVEMENT lN GRlNDSTONE-FRAMES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. lS1.9l 9, dated September 5, 1876; application filed March 21, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JEROME E. DE FREEs'r, of Troy, in the county of Rensselaer, and in the State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tubular Folding Grindstone-Frames; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, and to' the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the construction oi'a tubular frame for grindstones, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
The annexed drawing represents a perspective view of my invention.
A A representtwo parallel tubes or gaspipes, connected by ordinary T-joints B with two shorter ends, 0 O, forming a tubular frame. In the outer ends of the T-joints B are inserted tubular legs D D, for supporting the frame,- said legs being connected bydiagonal rods or braces 12 b, the ends of which pass through the legs, and are held by nuts on a, as shown. In the center, where the braces b b cross each other, they are connected by a clamp,
G, making the frame perfectly rigid. On the side tubes A A'are' secured suitable boxes I, in which the shaft J has its bearings, said shaft being at one end provided with a crank, K, and having one or more grindstones, L, secured on it. v
This frame may be folded by simply removin g the braces b b, when the legs can be turned in under the frame. I
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is vThe combination, in a grindstone-frame, of the parallel tubes A A, provided with boxes I I, the T-joints B B, end tubes 0 O, tubular legs D D, diagonal braces b b, and central clamp G, all constructed substantially as and for the purposes herein set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 3d day of March, 1876.
JEROME E. DE FREEST.
