With these and other objects in view there has been illustratedon the accompanying drawings one form in which the invention may be conveniently embodied in practice.

The plate member 31 has a horizontal rearwardly extending base 84 which forms a guideway for the top of the drawer 21. The coins which collectin the receptacle at the bottom of the bank are made proof against unauthorized removal by a door 35 pivotally connected to one side of the casing 10 by a hinge 36, said door having a key-operated lock 37 mounted thereon. Operation In operation, when the child deposits a coin in the slotll, it"will slide down the coin chute 13 and drop through the vertical passageway 16, striking the rear section 17 of'the latch lever 18. The latch lever 18 is so designed that the weight in front of the pivot lugs 19 will overbalance the weight behind said lugs, whereby the rear reduced section 17 will normally remain in its uppermost position, as shown in Fig. l. The weight of the coin on the rear reduced section 17 of the lever 18 will cause it to tilt downwardly to the position shown in F 3, disengaging the latch 22 from the slot 23. The child will then grasp the handle 30 and pull the drawer 21 out to the position shown in Fig. 3, the depressed forward section 28 of said drawer carrying a piece of candy 27, which is then removed by the child. This action permits the coin to drop down into the receptacle below the partition 24. Since the lowermost remaining piece of candy 27 will then rest on the rear ofthe drawer 21, it will be seen that it will be impossible to remove more than one piece at a time. When the drawer 21 is pushed back far enough to permit another piece of candy 27 to drop into the depressed forward section 28 of the drawer, the latch 22' will already have dropped down again into the slot 23. The drawer will then be locked in its original condition and the device will be ready for another operation.

Having thus fully described the. invention, what is claimed as new, and for which it is desired to' secure Letters Patent, is:

1. In a toy vending bank, a casing, a coin-conveying chute, a slidable pull drawer for containing a vendible article, a lever pivotally mounted on said drawer, said lever having a depending latch on its forward end, said casing having a slot located below said latch when said drawer is closed for normally preventing the withdrawal thereof, the rear end of said lever having a locking latch for engaging said casing to prevent complete withdrawal of said drawer, said rear end being normally situated beneath and in alinement with the bottom discharge end of said coin chute, whereby the falling of a coin will cause the latch to be disengaged from'said catch permitting the man ual withdrawal of said pull drawer for removal'of the article therefrom.
