This invention relates to multiple clay molds or ydies and the obj ect of the invention is to provide means for equalizing the pressure exerted on the clay or other material in a plurality of molds having their respective pistons actuated by or carried on the saine plunger so that in case of any cavity in a mold or die not being equally filled with clay when pressing or forming the clay piece, the device or equalizer will cause the exertion of the same pressure on each cavity or piece ot clay, thus producing a well pressed up piece, thus doing away with the 'diiiculty found in multiple clay molds or dies as now used that .lesser amounts of clay are not pressed effectively or are soft pressed or porous.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a vertical sectional view of a die pressure equalizing mechanism constructed in accordance with the invention;
Figure 2 is a like view to Fig. 1 but showing the dies depressed into the molds and the action of the equalizing lever;
Figure 3 is a section through one of the dies.
In the drawing, I have illustrated a very simple form ot multiple cavity mold comprising the mold box or chamber 10 which is formed in sections as usual and is formed to provide a plurality of dies 11 of any suitable form. The mold 10 is carried upon a plate 12 from which extend the cores 13. The mold 10 and plate 12 are supported in any suitable or usual manner. (l0-operating with the teniale dies 11 are the plungers or male dies 14. These are ornied each with a passage 15 so that the die when forced downward will p ass over the corresponding core 13. The dies 14 are each mounted upon a pair of stems 16 which pass upward through the upper and lower yoke plates 17 Y and 18, these yoke plates being connected by the bolts 19. Springs 2O act to urge the stems 16 upward or rather to resist downward movement of the stems.
Mounted upon the yoke bar 17 is a bearing 21 having pivotally mounted therein the equalizer 22 which has two arms bearing Aone mold 11 than thereis in t Vso that the clay in against Vthe male dies 14. he upper yoke bar Y 18 is connecte-d Yto the plunger rod.
As shown in Figure Q, when the plunger rod 23 is depressed, assuming that there is clay disposed within the female dies 11, the dies 14 will be depressed into the female dies and if there is the same .amo-unt ot clay in each Jfemale die, the male dies I1?; will be depressed an equal amount, but it there is more clay in e other, the corresponding male die 14; willV litt against the pressure of the clay in the last named die will, by bearing against 'the face of the corresponding die 14, tend to move the opposite end oi' the equalizer Q2 downward.` f
This secures an equalization ot the pressure in the two tema-le dies, thus producing a well pressed up piece and causing both pieces in the two 4Jfemale dies or die chambers to be compact.
While I have shown a certain particular form of molding device for molding dies, I do not wish to be limited to this as it is obvious that many Without departing Jfrom the spirit of the invention as deined in the appended claims.
1. A multiple molding die comprising a mold having a pair of dies therein, a plunger having a pair of coacting dies carried thereon tor vertical movement independent of the plunger, and an equalizer pivotally supported the other die 11 p changes may be made.

A multiple molding die ot thel'character described, comprising a pair of dies, a plunger coacting therewith, a pair of dies carried by the plunger and coacting with the firstnamed dies and each having a stem extending into the plunger, springs supporting the first named dies and an equalizer operatively supported at its middle upon the plunger and bearing at its opposite ends against one or the first-named dies.

A multiple molding ter described, comprising a moldA and mold cavities, a pair of dies entering the mold cavidie of the characi ties, a. plunger supporting the dies, and means carried by the plunger whereby any excessy resistance offered by the material in one of the cavities to the inward movement of the corresponding die shall be translated into inward pressure on the other die.

A multiple molding die of the Character described comprising a mold and mold cavities7 a pair of dies entering the mold cavi- 10 ties, a plunger supporting the dies, and means carried by the plunger whereby any excess of material in one cavity over the material in the other cavity shall be translated into inward pressure upon the die Whose correspending die has the least material therein.
5. A multiple molding die of the character described comprising a mold and mold Cavi.- ties, a pair of dies entering the mold cavities, a plunger supporting the dies, and means whereby any obstruction to the inward movement oi one die shall be translated into additional inward pressure on the other die.
6. A multiple molding die ot' the character described comprising a mold having two mold cavities, a plunger, a yoke carried theredies Coacting with the mold cavities and iaving stems extending upward through the yoke, springs surrounding the stems and urging the supported dies upward, and an equalizing lever pivoted to the yoke between the dies, the ends of the equalizing lever bearing upon the outer faces of the dies.
