. IMPROVEMENT IN TOY FURNITURE.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 180,680, dated August 1,'1876; application tiled v June 9, 1876.
To all whom 'it may concern Beit known that 1, FRANK VOIGT, of the city and county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Toy Furniture; and I do hereby declare the following to be a clear and exact description of the nature thereof, sufficient to enable others skilled. in the art to which my invention appertains to fully understand, make, and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, mak# duced by convenient and inexpensive means.
Referring to the drawings, A represents the head-board of a bedstead, and B the footboard, and Cthe side rails thereof. The head and foot boards are built up of slices or sections D of nut-shells, and the side rails G are faced with similar slices or sections D of nutshells.. These slices or sections are artistically arrauged relatively to each other, so as to produce the best effects of carved or open Work, arches, corners, &c., and it will be seen that the appearance is novel and beautiful,
and attractive and inexpensive toys may be produced.
It is evident that the invention is applicable to chairs, tables, and other pieces of toy furniture, care being taken to properly arrange the slices or sections relatively to the shape thereof. The slices or sections may be cut or sawed longitudinally or transversely, according to taste or requirements. y
Having' thus-described my invention, What .I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
As a new article of manufacture, toy furniture constructed wholly or in part of' nutshells, substantially as and for the purpose set forth. l
