Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 180,251, dated July 25, 1876; application filed May 9, 1876.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SAMUEL MAY, of .Toronto, Oanada,have invented a new and Improved Billiard-Table Leveler, of which the following is a specification:

My-invention consists of a long nut with an enlarged head at the lower end screwing on a rod projecting from the bottom of a socket in the end of the leg, in which .the nut works so as to conceal the screw-rod, the said rod being either a short one, screwing into the leg at the bottom of the socket, or being formed on the rod used to screw the leg to the table, and in both cases having a collar screwing against the bottom of the socket, and being further secured by wood-screws screwing into the wood through notches in the edges of the collar. The contrivance is simple, substantial, and neat, presenting a much better and more finished appearance than the ordinary billiard-table levelers.

A is the leg, in the lower end of which is a deep socket, B, with a screw-threaded rod, 0, projecting from the bottom of the socket to the end of the leg, more or less, and having the long nut 15 screwing on it into the socket. The nut has a long oval head, F, and the leg has preferably a metal cap with a flange G,

Having thus described my invention, what' I claim as new, and desire to secure by Let ters Patent, is-

The combination, with billiard-table leg having socket B and the flanged cap G, of

the long nut E,screwing on bolt up into the I socket B, the bolt being extended entirely through and into the body of the table, and having the head'F, substantially as shown and described, for the purpose specified.
