This invention relates to Christmas tree holders, and it h as for its object to provide a device of very simple and inexpensive construction, made wholly of wire and'of, conse- 5 quently, very light weight, while, at the same time, it will eiiiciently serve the purpose of supporting the Christmas tree in an upright position.
AIt is a further object of the invention to provide a device of the character indicated, constructed in such manner that it will be very easy' to apply to the tree.
Further objects and advantages of the invention will be set forth in the detailed description which follows. p In the accompanying drawing, Fig. l is a plan `view of the device of the present invention, with the trunk of the tree in section, and
Fig. 2 is a transverse vertical sectional view therethrough, with the tree trunk removed. Like numerals designate corresponding parts in both the figures of the drawings.
In the accompanying drawing, 5 designates a pie :e of relativel heavy wire, bent to circular orvband form. Two additional pieces of'wire are employed, bent to substantially triangular form, with their intermediate portions 6 and 7 respectively, disposed in crossed and with their terminal end portions projecting upwardly and inwardly toward the trunk of the tree 8, said upwardly and inwardly directed portions being indicated at 9,-9'1 and 10-10", respectively. At the points where the upwardly and inwardly directed portions join the intermediate portions 6 and 7, they are bent into engagement with .the vband 5, as indicated at l1, and, if desired, the
structure may points. At the point where the' members 6 and 7 cross each other, they are tied together by a short piece of wire, indicated at 12, which standing point 12, serves to eiiciently hold the tree in an upright position.
It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the precise construction set forth, but that it includes within its purview whateverochanges fairly come within either the terms or the spirit of the appended claims. Having 'described my invention, what I claim is l. A device of the character described, comprising a circular wire, a pair of additional wires bent to f orm horizontal members which diametrically span the circular wire', and upwardly and inwardly projecting pointed terminal ends, said horizontal members being secured to the circular wire at their point of engagement with the same, means for securing `said. horizontal portions together at their point of crossing, said securing means constituting .an upstanding point. 2. A Christmas tree holder comprising a circular wire, a pair of additional wires bent to form horizontal .members which diametrically spanthe circular wire and which latter wires are bent upon themselves inw'ardl'y over the circular wire and united at such point of bending and being continued thence inwardly and upwardly and terminating in inwardlyprojectin'g pointed ends, and means and for securing said horizontal portions of the additional wires together at their point of crossing, said means comprisinga twisted wirev element bent about such crossed portions and terminating in an upstanding point. In testimony whereof I affix my signature.

be welded or soldered at these' is twisted about the parts 6 and 7, and is left v upstanding to constitute a point adapted to enter the base of the tree. The terminal ends of the members 9-9a'and lO---l'Oa are pointed to constitute prongs adapted to engage in the trunk of the tree, and this, in conjunc- 50 tion with the support provided by the up-
