Having described my invention, I claim:

1. A device of the type described, comprising a track member attachable to a flag pole, a flag carrier adapted to travel up and down said track member, mechanism contain ed W1th1n the carrier for engagement with the track member to propel it along the latter,

and a chain depending from the carrier for operating said mechanism to raise said carrier.

3. A device of the type described, com.- prising a Wide track member formed with two parallel rows o1 equally spaced holes'ex- I tending from top to bottom, a channel housing free to travel up and down said track member, a shaft jou'rnaled in said housing, a

pair of toothed Wheels secured to said shaft, the teeth on said vheels'freeto enter said holes, a sprocket secured to said shaft, and an endless chain passing around the'sprocket V and depending therefrom through the hous ing for the purpose specified.

A device of the type described comprising a Wide track member formed with two parallel roWsof equally spaced holes extending from top to bottom, a channel memher free to travel up and downsaid track member, a shaft journaled in said channel member, a pair of toothed Wheels secured to said shaft, the teeth of said Wheels adapted to enter said holes, a sprocket casing open at its bottom, on one side oft-he channel member, a sprocket in said casing attached to said shaft Which projects into the casing, and an endless chain passing around the sprocket and the open end In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 6th day of June, 1930.
