Vhen there is any such variation and the face of either head is brought against a surface with which it would not ordinarily register, due to any angular relation, the iexibility of the head connection with the handle permits of automatic adjustment and good stamping results, under impactof the blow. y i

Head 2b is provided with a corresponding series of similarly located and spacedcon-VV necting bolts 14 having VenlargedY reinforcing beveled heads 15, the fiat inner ends of which are soldered or welded to the face of plate 5. The outer endsof sleeves 13 are inwardly beveled to receive heads 15, so that when the stampin" head 2b isvin aosition the )arts `fit lsnugly Vandtightly together, and are held by the securing nuts 16.

One advantage of the comparatively thin plate 5- when tightlysecured to the stampface of the main head orbase, as making a rocker stamp, capable of rolling motionover the surface beingstamped.

The device is extremely useful, very durable, and may be made in different shapes, designs, sizes, weights, or otherwise changed or Y' varied by the skilled mechanic, but all such changes are to be understood as within the scope of the following claims. i

hat'we claim is: 1. The combination with a resilient headV having a ilatouter facerand a series of` bolt openings having sleeve,linings'thereim of a separable stamping head provided with a base plate secured to the` inner face of the headV and bolts secured tothe plate and extending through the bolt hole-linings.

2. The combination'with a resilient head having a flat outer face and-a series -of bolt openings having sleeve linings therein inrable stamping headprovided with a'base plate secured tothe innery face of the head and bolts' having beveled heads secured to thev plate having interiitting engagement withV vwardlybeveled at their outer ends,` of a sepaporting head having an inner. handle attach-v ing neck and an outer-enlargedk flat vface portion, of a separable'stamping headprovlded .with an inner lixedly attached base plate havingv connecting bolts extending through the yflat face i portion securing thestamping head thereto.
