My invention relates to improvements in moldingV machines of-the type used foragitating a mold and its fiask for jarring, so

The outer portion of the base extends upwardly above a 'middle transverse Hoor portion 8 by outer. wallsf9, between `which the jarring table 12 extends downwardly Vfor bumpingaction against an intervening transverse jarring plate l0. The latter is laid across themiddle lfloor portion 8 of the Hma chine with middle clearancetfor lthe plunger cylinder, and with an intervening compara` tively thin sheet 11 of suitableshock absorbent-material, as fibre, cork, or other resilient material, whereby to `absorb the shocks of impact. Y j i The jarring table 12 extendsfacross the Ventire upperportion of the supporting base frameby its upper table top and is provided Y with a downwardly extending interior skeleton framework 13. The latter is provided with a supporting bottom 14 adapted to make contact with the jarring plate 10, and is `al` Y ternately raised by theplunger 5 and lowered Vby gravity, upon admission and exhaust of a suitableefluid under pressure. The `middle interiorportion of the-table `12 is provided with an annular frame or ring 15, against which abuts and to which is secured the upper flange 16 of the plunger 5. y
' The plunger is'alternately raised and lowered by admission of fluid under pressure through the valve A, with exhaust therethrough upon gravi?, ating return of the table. The stein of the valve is lifted and lowered by the connecting yoke or bunter stem l? of the valve secured as at 18 in the lower body portion of the table at one side of the plunger cavity.
` The siem 19 of the valve is connected with the cylindrical slide valve 20 by its terminal having the nut Q1 and collar 2Q providing for a limited am unt of lost motion at each side of the middle hub Q3 of the valve.
The stem 17 being connected with the table will rise wi h the rise of the table .under pressure, cutting oft the pressure supply through inlet pipe B and opening the exhaust ports for escape of the previously used pressure fluid through exhaust pipe C, upon alternate lowering of the table.
Likewise, lowering of the table afi` er a limited amount of lost moti-on of stem 19, will shift the valve Q0 downwardly.y closing the exhaust ports and opening the supply for another lifting operation.
The corner wall portions 9 of ll-ie main base provide outer guiding housings for the table, which is provided at each corner with the wearing faces 24, planed at right Vangles to each other and providing for vertical guiding movement within co-.acting wearing plates 25. he wearing plates 25 are inoun, ed within the upwardly extending corner wall portions 9 by means of series 'of upper and lower studs and bolts 26-27 respectively. The contacting faces of such plates with the corner faces 24 of the table are accurately fitted for vertical sliding movement, one against the other, during vert-ical reciprocation of the table throughout 'its limited range Vof movement.
For the purper-se of protecting `the interior of the construction ainlpreventing access of dust or `other foreign matter to such wearing faces, l provide outer enclosing covering plates 28 of thin sheet or plate metal, bolted or otherwise secured to the edgeso'l" table 12, extending downwardly `over the outer pertion of walls 9 so to slide thereon with a close lit, efiectually excluding such objectionable impure air circulation. For the purpose of lubricating `the worle ing faces at the cerner of the machine, i also the plunger cylinder, l provi de the s ytem of distributing pipes and pressure mecnanisin whereby a suitable lubricant 'distributed to such vvarious working parts, as shown in the drawings.
For such purpose, a main lubricant con taining reservoir 29 is connected by a branch pipe 30 to the main air or other fluid supply line 31, so as to exert pres-,sure on the lubricant reservoir when he fluid supply is ad mitted by operating valve 32 thereof.
Reservoir 29 is provided with branch supply pipes 33 and 34 respectively, each having an opening and closing control valve 35 and 36, respectively. Pipe 33 is connected with a main annularly arranged ysupply pipe 37 extending entirely around the machine, as shown in Fig. 4t. VAt suitable intervals, branch supply conduits, preferably in the form of sections of rubber hose 38, extend from pipe 37 upwardly to a point opposite the middle of each of the wearing plates 25,
as in Fig. 2. The branch connections 38 are each provided with a terminal pipe 39 extending inwardly through the -outer wall 9 and through the wearing plate 25, or an opening therein, so .as .to furnish lubricant through its reduced terminal between it and the outer wear faces Q4, at each corner portion, as clearly shown. With such arrangement, the lubricant will be furnished under pressure equally to all of the several points of application durinfr the ltime that air pressure is exerted on reservoir 29 while the machine is being operated.
Likewise, for the purpose of supplying lubricant to the interior of cylinder 4, branch pipe 34s extends inwardly through the plunger using, as at l0, providing for lubricant under pressure during the operative period. i
It will be understood that the .flow of lubricant may be accurately controlled by valves 35 and 36 and that suitable lubricant as to its fluidity should be utilized to maintain the wor-king parts in proper 'lubrii cated condition.
VViith the machine operating in the manner intended with-continuous alternating vertical reciprocations and with the accurate action of the guiding Imeans provided, 4the lubrication of the parts greatly facilitates its lcontiuous eiicient operation, avoiding wear, and with incidental protection of the parts from intrusion of sand or other gritty foreign material.
' What I claim is 1. The combination with a jarring machine havinv' la supporting floor anda surrounding upwardly extending zrectangular wall, wear plates mounted in the corner .portions of the wall, a reciprocable table within the wall having vcorner portions engaging the wear plates, Aan isolated lubricant reservoir, a lubricant conduit surrounding the machine connected with the reservoir and having branch yconnections leading inwardly through the wear plates, and means pr0- vding for pressure on the contents of the reservoir.
2. The combination with a jarring machine having a supporting floor and a surrounding upwardly -extending rectangular wall, wear plates mounted in the corner portions of the wall, individual supply pipes leading inwardly through the wear plates, a reciprocable table within the wall having lll) y and exhaust valve connected with the casing,
