This invention relates to holders for shoe polish boxes and the like, and its object is to provide a novel and improved. device of that nature having, among others, the advantages hereinafter trated.

Referring first-to Figs. 1, 2, my novel box holder comprises a handle a, fashioned to provide parallel bars or rods 1, 2, of convenient length and suitable material, as metal.
The outer or free ends of the bars are curved toprovide boxholding and engaging arms 3, 41, which, Fig. 3, may be sprung to receive the body of the box 5, and then closed to grasp it securely.

The cover 8 is preferably made-larger than any box likely to be secured in the holder,
so that it can provide "for a variation in the size of the box Within certain limits, and is '45 provided with a sheet of suitable material described and illus vent the drying and hardening of the contents of the box.
The finger piece 9, Fig. 2, may be secured to the spring 7 as by a clip 10, Fig. 6, as a ,arms 3, 4, locking the box in position, with the cover 8 resting thereon, the original box cover being discarded. The cover 8 will be pressed down upon the box 5 sufiiciently hard to effectuallyclose it by the spring 7, and obviously the cover may be raised at will by pressure of the thumb upon the finger piece 9, Fig. 3.
My novel holder is convenient, inexpensive, and provides a novel self-closing omnibus box cover that Will preserve the box contents and yet permit free access thereto.
