Mounted in the outer end of the cylindrical casing 0 adjacent the rosette are two flaps or valves e, pivoted at their upper and lower ends at f. It is desirable to limit the opening move ment of the flaps in order to regulate the out-v going draft, and I therefore provide adj ust- I able means to accomplish this function.

By adjusting the position of the stop, the opening movement of the flaps can readily be controlled and thereby regulate the draft passing from the room, or if desired closing the casing against the passage of air.
In operation, the position of the stop-is regulated, and the air from the, room will open the flaps, and such air will pass to the chimney. If the incoming draft is stronger than the outgoing draft,the flaps or valves will be automatically closed, as well understood in this art. Ifthe flaps open too wide and thereby permit the passage of too much air from the room, the stop 9 is adjusted to the desired position by pulling on the cord or chain and securing the same, hence the opening movement of the flaps is limited. Of course, if the stop is drawn up to contact with the flaps, the draft will be entirely out The rosette presents an ornamental appearance to the ventilator, and the sametime it does not detract from the operation of the flaps.
It is to be understood that the invention is not limited to the use of two flaps, as it is evident one or more may be used if desired.
\Vhat I claim is: 1. A ventilator comprising a casing open at one end, a rosette having openings and arranged over the outer end of the casing, pivotally mounted flaps in the outer end of the casing adjacent the rosette, a stop spring actuated in one direction, in the bottom portion of the casing near the lower ends of the flaps which cooperates with said flaps to regulate their open position, and means for adj usting the position of the stop to regulate the opening of the flaps.
2. A ventilator comprising a casing, piv
otally mounted valve means in the casing, 21 stop'mounted in the casing adapted to be positioned in the path of movement of the valve means, a spring to limit the movement of the stop in one direction, and manual means for moving the stop in the opposite direction, whereby to regulate the opening movement of the valve means.-
