It will be understood that numerous slight changes and rearrangement of the parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention. However, it is to be noted that the invention includes some form of buoyancy for the device and also a driving and steering mechanism which may be easily operated by the person using the device, even though that person is but a mere child.

- There the device is used by a small child it may be used in water which is only deep enough to reach the childs waist. Consequently, whenever the device upsets the child nia \Y readily stand up and thus he safe against drowning.

An amusement device including a casing, buoyancy tanks arranged in the casing, means for propelling the casing, means for steering the casing and a pair of sliding plates carried by the bottom of the casing, each plate having a slot therein, a clamping screw for each slot, and means for actuating said plates to an outer and inner position, said screws acting to clamp said plates in either position.

An' aquatic amusement device including a casing, a pair of buoyancy tanks arranged in front of the casing, a pair of buoyancy tanks arranged in the rear of the casing, there being a chamber left between said pairs of buoyancy tanks, a driving shaft extending transversely through said chamber, a gear rigidly secured to said driving shaft, a pinion meshing continually with said gear wheel, a driving shaft rigidly connected with said pinion and rotated thereby, a propeller carried by said shaft and rotated thereby, a crank arm arranged on each end of said first mentioned shaft, a chain depending from the outer end of each of said crank arms, a stirrup connected at the free end of each of said chains, and means for steering the device.

An aquatic amusement device including a casing, buoyancy tanks in the casing, means for controlling the casing, said means including a power shaft extending transversely through the casing, a crank arranged at each end of said power shaft, a chain connected with the outer end of each of said cranks, a stirrup connected at the lower end of each of said chains, a seat for the operator position so that the feet of the operator may engage said stirrup, and means for steering the device.

5. An aquatic amusement device including a casing, apair of buoyancy tanks arranged in front of the casing, a pair of buoyancy tanks arranged in the rear of the casing, there being a chamber left between said pairs of buoyancy tanks, a driving shaft extending transversely through said chamber, a vgear rigidly secured to said driving shaft, a pinion meshing continually with said gear wheel, a drivin()F shaft connected with said pinion and rotate( thereby, a propeller carried by said shaft and rotated thereby, a crank arm arranged on each end of said first mentioned shaft, a stirrup connected at the free end of each of said crank arms, and means for steering the device.
