(GRANTED WEB THE ACT OF MARCH 3, 1888, AS AMENDED AERIL 30, 1928;. 370 0. (la-757.)
The invention described herein maybe manufactured and used by or for the Governmentfor governmental purposes, without the projectiles, requires precision in establishing the connection between the parts of the socket and it is the purpose of this inventionto pro: vide an implement which will permit a rapid preparation of these parts for soldering.
With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention resides in the novel arrangement and combination of parts and in the details of construction. hereinafter described and claimed, it being understoodithat changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
A practical embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing which is a longitudinal sectional viewof the implement with a socket in position for soldering. i
Referring to the drawing by numerals of reference The implement consistsof a handle in which is secured a stepped blade 6 formingv a threaded base 7 an intermediate shoulder 8 and an extended neck 9. The shoulder and the neck are of a form and length appropriate greater than the flange so that the nut may be freely slipped over the socket member and securely hold the elementslO and 11 of the socket member in position on the blade. The positioning'of the socket elements and the nut on the blade may be performed individually or collectively. In either event the connection at the overlapping flanges which is the point of soldering will be accurately de termined with respect to the axis of the socket.
In the preferred embodiment of theinvention the length of the shoulder 8 and the neck 9 is so related to the length of the socket elements to be placed thereon that respective clearances 17 and 18 are present.
I claim: g Q Y A Work holding implement including a handle, a blade secured to the handle and formed ina series of steps, the outer steps I adapted to position socket members, and a coupllng securable to the largest step and having an internal flange spaced from the adjacent step.
