My device relates to a special cabinet for retaining a vibrating massaging machine, which is more fully set forth in a former Patent, No. 1,693,300. i
The object of my invention is to produce a special cabinet for massaging machines adapted for permanent installation and storing the devices therein.
Another object is to produce a cabinet for a massaging machine, so designed and constructed that the machine may be positioned and retained therein for operating same, yet easily detached and folded within the cabinet for storing.
A further object is to produce a special cabinet so designed that when the machine is placed in the operating position, the cabinet members provide rigid bracing supports therefor and without any floor or wallfadjustments being made.
A, still further object of my inventionis to provide an enclosing cabinet for massaging machines, having a neat and presentable,
appearance, constructed of a design capable of being matched with other room furniture and completely concealing and protecting the machine when not in use.
Another object is to produce an ornamental cabinet as a part of room furniture equipment that will allow the enclosed machine to be easily and efficiently operated from its position within the enclosing cabinet and that can be manufactured at a very reasonable cost. I
These several objects are attained in the preferred form by the constructionand arrangement of parts more fully hereinafter set forth.

Fig. 7 is a sectional view taken on line 7 7 1 7 and means for rigidly bracing the cabinet when the massaging machine is in operation. I will now describe more fully the detailed construction of my cabinet, referring to the drawings and the marks thereon.
In general, my device comprises a rectangular-shaped cabinet, preferably formed of wood material, having one side panel pivoted thereto at the bottom, capable of unfolding to a position parallel with the floor and resting thereon. Within the cabinet ismounted a rigid sup-porting frame, provided with a pivotally attached base capable of being adj usted to either a vertical or a horizontal position for receiving and retaining a massaging machine fixedly attached thereon.
I have shown my cabinet structure in combination with a massaging machine and operating motor, more specifically set forth in my former patent heretofore mentioned, for the purpose of more clearly illustrating the use and application of this invention in combination therewith,although the massaging machine and operating motor units are not a part of this invention or claimed herewith.
The cabinet is preferably formed of rectangular wood sections 1, 2 and 3, placed in a vertical position, with the sides 1 and 2- positioned at opposite edges of the side 3 and right angles thereto, the corner joints being made in the manner ordinarily used in cabinet making by mitering or grooving the edges together, suitable for providing a rigid structure. The base l is also made of a rectangular wood section and preferably attached by grooved joints for adding strength and rigidity to the structure. The top -5 is also made of a rectangular wood section, preferably with beaded edges, and attached to the top cog-es of panels 1-, -2 and -3, forming a rectangular box-shaped enclosure, with one open side. Around the inner corners of the closed cabinet walls are attached corner cleats 6 7- and 8, securely attached to the cabinet walls for more rigidly joining the cabinet wall sections together and providing means for mortising and mounting the machine supports thereina Pivotally attached to the base 4 is a movable door panel 9, joined to the base by the hinge 10, fixedly attached to both base and door panel, which extends nearly the entire width of the door panel section, the door panel 9 being of a size to completely fol-d within the cabinet and fitting within the sides -l and 2 and the top section 5-, folding therein in a position as one of the cabinet walls. Fixedly attached to the top 5 is a panel cleat -10" extending the entire width of the cabinet opening, positioned to engage the door panel 9 when folded within the cabinet for retaining the same therein in a vertical position. Mounted on the outer surface at the top edge of the door panel 9 is a catch lock -11- preferably mortised within the door panel surface for presenting a neat finished appearance, and engages a catch plate 12 mortised in the adjacent face of top 5 for holding and locking the panel 9 within the cabinet when closed. The catch lock 11 is preferably made of the ring type, capable of turning the ring 13 about its pivot 14 for disengaging the lock catch, and allowing the door panel 9- to be opened. The door panel 9 when disengaged from the cabibrace cleats and door panel for allow net by the catch lock -ll may be unfolded on the attaching hinge l0-- to a position practically parallel with he floor su 'iporti' the cabinet, as more specifically shown in ll 6. To the outer surface of the door panel 9- is attached floor cleats l5- and -l6-, positioned crosswise of the panel section, the cleats l5 and l6 being of a different thickness to allow door panel 9- to resume a slightly sloping position away from the cabinet, both cleats resting upon the floor surface, providing a standing platform for the person when using the mas saging machine. The edges a and Z) of the cleats 15 and 16- are preferably beveled for neatness in appearance, while the outer surface -c is preferably recessed and provided with rubber fillers 17 and -18 the entire length thereof for engaging the floor surfaces and preventing marring or scratching thereof when the door panel 9 is unfolded and the cabinet subject to use. Also the inside surface of the door panel 9 is completely covered with a rubber sheet matting 19 securely attached thereto, practically covering the entire inner panel face, and providing secure footing for the person standing thereon. FiXedly mounted to the inside face of the door panel 9, near the edges -e and f, are bracket pivot clips 20 attached thereto by the screws 21. lVood brace members 22, preferably formed of rectangular cross sections, are pivotally mounted in each of the bracket pivot clips by the pins 23 passing through the clips and brace ends, the braces -2Q being free to turn thereon. The braces -22- are extended to a position of about 45 degrees with the cabinet walls when the door panel 9 is in the open position and the opposite ends engage notches 24 of the out; w j s of vertical brace cleats 25-, which are fixedly attached along the inner faces of the side walls land 2-. The base plate -35 is formed with a cylindrical recess -.4:5 positioned at right angles to the top face of the plate along the center line thereof, preferably outside the supporting pivots 26, as illustrated in Fig. 8, the recess walls being provided with an adjusting slot and a threaded adjusting bolt 46 as a clamping means therefor. Within the recess is mounted the cylindrical shaft a7- of the massaging machine bearing casting, the same being tightly clamped therein by means of the adjusting bolt 4E6 The massaging machine proper is more fully and completely described in my former patent heretofore mentioned, and comprises the bearing casting l-7- supporting a rotatably mounted horizontal crank shaft i8 and attached crank wheels 49 securely attached to the shaft. Also pivotally mounted. on the bearing casting e7, concentric with the crank shaft -&8- is a swinging bearing frame 50 which carries applicator arms 51 pivotally mounted at the outer ends thereof, each applicator arms -51 being connected to one'of the crank wheels t9- by pitman arms 52v also pivotally connected to the applicator arms and crank wheels, the applicator arms --51.- being provided with a series of applicator-buttons 53 positioned at uniform spaces along the outer faces thereof and carry a detachable applicator belt -54 thereon, the crank shaft 48 and wheels 49 being rotated by a connecting belt .-55 leading direct to the motor drive pulleys -56 and is driven thereby by the electric current communicated to the motor tlirough the double terminal wires -58 passing through the switch 59 in the bearing, casting 4. communicated directly to the motor through the circuit wires 60.
The operation of the massagingmachine is fully explained in my former patent above mentioned, the designbeing capable of rota ing the operating frame 50- to any position about the pivoted bearing and also adjust the connected applicator arms and pitman arms. accordlngly, and whlch adjustment 1s essential, as shown in Fig. 5, when the pivot base plate and the attached machine is turned to thevertical position and folded for allowing the closing. of the door panel 9 within; the cabinet. 7
It is apparent that my cabinet is subjectto various modifications in both the general design and mechanical details, and that various types and designs of base plates would be necessary for receiving and retaining different types of massaging machines thereon, and various locking means may be devised for retaining the base plate in the different positions, and I claim as my invention the designs as shown and any other design which would be practically a substitution of the parts herein described.
Having fully described my massaging machine cabinet, What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A portable cabinet adapted for supporting and enclosing a massaging machine, comprising a rigid cabinet enclosure, formed with one open side, a panel door pivotally mounted Within said side opening, a support member pivotally mounted Within the cabinet enclosure designed to receive and support a massaging machine thereon, said support member being capable of being rotated from a horizontal to a vertical position about its pivot support Within the cabinet enclosure, and means mounted Within the cabinet for rigidly retaining the pivoted support member and attached massaging machine in its extreme pro-determined positions therein.
2. A portable cabinet adapted for supporting and enclosing a massaging machine, comprising a rigid rectangular box-shaped cabinet enclosure, formed with one open side, a panel door pivotally mounted Within the said cabinet side opening and designed to turn about its supporting pivot to a position parallel to the supporting floor, attached braces for rigidly connecting the panel door to the cabinet Walls When in its open position, a support member pivotally mounted Within the cabinet enclosure capable of being rotated from a horizontal to a vertical position Within the cabinet, means mounted thereon for rigidly retaining the support member in its extreme pre-determined positions Within the cabinet, said support member being capable of receiving and supporting an attached massaging machine thereon in a manner for folding and unfolding the same Within the cabinet enclosure.
3. A portable cabinet adapted for supporting and enclosing a massaging machine, comprising a rigid rectangular box-shaped enclosure, formed with one open side, a panel door pivotally mounted at the base of said c: binet capable of folding Within the cabinet side opening completely closing the same, means attached to said panel door for locking the same within the cabinet side opening, brace means pivotally attached to the panel door for rigidly connecting the said panel door to the cabinet Walls when the door is unfolded to a position parallel with the supporting floor, a supporting frame fixedly mounted within the cabinet enclosure positioned therein in approximately a horizontal plane, a movable support member pivotally mounted on the said support frame capable of being rotated from a horizontal to a vertical position about the supporting pivot Within the cabinet, means mounted Within the cabinet for engaging and retaining the said pivoted support member in its extreme pre-determined positions Within the cabinet, said pivoted member being designed to receive and support an attached massaging machine thereon in a manner for rotating the same about the supporting pivot for folding and unfolding the said massaging machine in and out of the cabinet enclosure.
4. A portable cabinet adapted for supporting and enclosing a massaging machine therein, comprising a rigid rectangular box-shaped enclosure, formed With one open side, a panel door fitted Within said side opening and completely filling same and attached to the said cabinet base by hinge means, said panel door being capable of unfolding and resting upon the supporting floor, locking means mounted thereon for engaging and locking said panel door Within the cabinet Wall opening, brace means pivotally attached to said. panel door and connected to the cabinet Walls in a manner for rigidly bracing the same When the panel door is in its open position, a support frame fixedly mounted Within the said cabinet enclosure positioned in a horizontal plane, an adjustable support member pivotally mounted on the support frame capable of being turned from a horizontal to a vertical position therein, means mounted on the said support frame for rigidly holding the pivoted support member in its extreme pre-determined positions therein, the said pivoted support member being designed for retaining a massaging machine fixedly attached thereto in a manner for rotating the said massaging machine from a horizontal operating position to a vertical position Within the cabinet enclosure sufficiently for allowing the cabinet door to be folded Within the cabinet opening.
5. A portable cabinet adapted for supporting and retaining a massaging machine therein, comprising a rigid rectangular boxshaped cabinet enclosure, formed With one open side, a panel door fitted Within said side opening and attached to the cabinet base by hinge means along the bottom edge of said panel capable of unfolding to a position resting upon the supporting floor, means mounted thereon for engaging and locking said panel door Within the cabinet side opening, brace means pivotally mounted on the said panel door and slidably connected to the cabinet side Walls in a manner for forming rigid bracing to the cabinet when the cabinet door is in its open position, horizontal lateral supports fixedly attached to the cabinet Walls, a rigid support frame fixedly mounted on said horizontal lateral supports, an adjustable support member pivotally mounted on the support frame along the front edge thereof capable of being rotated from a horizontal to a vertical position Within the cabinet, a looking latch pivotally mounted on the said support frame along the back edge thereof positioned to engage and support the pivoted support member in a horizontal position, means attached to said latch for disengaging the same from the said pivoted support member, said pivoted member being designed to receive a massaging machine and operating motor fixedly attached thereon for supporting the said massaging machine in a horizontal operating position or turning said massaging machine and motor to a vertical position for enclosing the same within the cabinet when not in use and'securely retaining the same therein in its folded position.
