A rod.28 rigidly secured at one end in the peripheral Aface of the drum 26 extends through the slot 13 and on the-other end thereof is formed with a loop 29 that is movably engaged in the opening 25 on thevbrack-et24. By having the loopV A50 29 movable in the opening 25 any thrust on the .rod 2,8 is compensated for so as not to bind the trunnions 27 in the opening 16.
In the application of the invention, as the oil is consumed from-the reservoir, the oat 22 3l holds downwardly being guided in its movement by the tube 8 which is slidably encircled by the cavity: 23 on the ioat. - Having described my invention, what I claim as new'is l1. In 'combination with a lamp fuel reservoir, having a vertically extendingy air compartment, said fuel reservoirhaving an open voir, having a vertically extending air compartment, said fuel reservoir having an open neck therein, a cap extending into the neck and having an opening in its upper wall and a pair of aligned openings in its side wall, said capfurther having a slot in its side wall between the openings, a closure cap having diaphanous panel across itsupper face supported at the upperend of the neck over the first mentioned cap, a floatdisposed in the reservoirfin'slidable abutment with the air compartment, a drum having oppositely extending 'trunnions journaled in said pair of openings ,with its axisin parallelism with the top of th'ezca'p'so as to register indicia on the pe- 8o ripheral face thereof with theyoke in the cap, al rod rigidly securedat one end to the periphery of the drum and. at its otheren'dlmovably coupled with the float for transmitting movement of the float to the drum, saidfloat being ver) crescent vshaped and having the concaved p01:- tion thereof slidably surrounding thelair compartment.
