The principal object of this invention is to provide a simple and economical alarm which will be within the economic demand of the public.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a fire alarm which will be positive and efficient in operation.

Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, the invention includes a plate 5 with a flange 6 atits periphery. Projectingfrom the plate 5 in a direction opposite to the direction of the flange 6 and being vertically spaced', are the bolts 7. The free ends of the bolts are reduced and threaded to receive nuts 8 for securing the elongated plate 9 against the shoulders of the bolts at said reduced ends. f
Secured to the inner side of the plate 9 arev coincidently arranged sensitive thermostatic wafers 10, the innermost wafer 10 having a centralprotuberance 11 for disposition through an opening 12 in a leaf spring 13.
The upper end of the leaf spring 13 has a threaded opening through which is threadedly engaged a screw 14` having a reduced end 15 bearing through an opening in the plate 5. The opposite end of the leaf spring 13 is secured to one end of a plunger 16, which has an outwardly flaring head 17 for engagement with the pawl 18 of a suitable clock spring mechanism, generally referred to by the numeral 19.
Tho plunger 16 has an extension 20 proadapted for disposition through an opening in a partition 21. A spring 22 is convoluted on the extension 20 and interposed between the head 17 and the partition 21 and adapted for normally maintaining the head 17 engaged with the pawl 18 for preventing the actuation thereof by the said clock mechanism. l
The pawl 18 has a head or clapper 23 which is adapted to engage the bell 24 which provides a cover for the lock mechanism and produces a sound when the plunger head 17 isreleased `by the expansion of the thermostatic wafers 10.
Suitable adjustment of the leaf spring 13v may be obtained by the completing of the screw 14, while the bell 24 may be secured to the plate 5 by any suitable means.
1t is to` be understood that numerous changes in the specific shape, size, mate'- rials, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope ofthe invention as claimed hereinafter.
Having thus described my invention, what i I claim as new is:
1. An alarm comprising a bell, a thermov static unit, a spring mechanism, a clapper for engagement` with the bell and cooperation by said spring mechanism, and means.,
