It will thus be seen that I have provided a'highly novel, simple, and efficient wheel flange lubricator that is well adapted for all the purposes heretofore designated.
Even though I have hereinshown and described the invention as consisting. of certain detailstructural elements, it is nevertheless to be understood that minor changes may be made therein without affecting the spirit and scope of the appendedicl aims.
Having thus described y invention, what Ielaim as new is:
1. In a wheel flange lubricator, an arm adapted to be secured to the stationary member of a car frame adjacent the wheels'of a car, a housing formed integral with the arm at one end of the arm,.the outer end of the housingbeing inclined and opened, an arm pivotally mounted within the housing and having its free end projecting through said opening, a stop member supported in one wall 'ofthe housing and adapted'to be engaged by said arm to limit the movement ofthe' arm in one direction, said'arm belng provided intermediate its ends with an opening, a bolt threaded in one wall of the housing and extending through'the opening in saidarm, a spring member disposed about the bolt, said spring impinging against the head of the bolt at one end of the spring and at its opposite end impinging against said arm for normally "urging the arm against said stop vmember, a
lubricant container supported on'the'free'end of said arm, a follower member adapted for 1 sliding movement longitudinally of the'container for urging the lubricant outwardly of end of said lever with said follower member, spring means for normally urging the lever in one direction for actuating said follower to urge the lubricant exteriorly' of its container.
2. A wheeled flange lubricator comprising a housing, means for supporting the housing abovethe wheel of a locomotive, said housing being provided with an open inclined end, an arm'pivotally mounted within the housing, saidarm having one end thereof extending through the open end of the housing for movement inithe open end of said housing,
spring means for normally urging the arm in a direction toward-thewheel of the locomotive, a stop member arranged within the housing and adapted to be engaged by said arm for limiting the movement of the arm against the action of the spring, and an inclined container carried on said one end of the arm, said container having atrough in the bottom thereof extending longitudinally thereof, said trough beingopen atone end and having said open end disposed in operative relation with respect tothe locomotive wheel, a stick of lubricant slidable in the trough, and a spring pressed follower located within the trough for movement longitudinally 'of't'he trough for urging the lubricant through the open end of the trough.

A wheel flange lubricator comprising a housing, means for rigidly supporting the housing above the wheel of the locomotive, said housing provided with an inclined'open end,an arm pivotally mountedin' said housing, said arm having the free: end thereof movable in the open end of the housing, a container carried by said armon said free end of thearm, said container disposed at an incline in operative relationtothe'locomotive wheel, said container having a trough formed therein, said trough having an open end disposed in operative relation to the car wheel, a stick of lubricant slidable' in the trough, said trough having one wall thereof provided with a longitudinally extending slot, a lever pivotally mounted within said container, said lever having one end thereof movable in the slot, a follower member secured to said one end ofthe lever and adapted for movement longitudinally of the trough for urging the lubricant through the open end of said trough, and spring means within the container operatively associatedwith said lever for rocking said lever upon its pivotal connection in'one direction for actuating said follower; In testimony whereof I'Iafliii my signature.
