To unfasten the frames for opening movement, the slidable member is moved beyond the abutment, and as soon as this takes place, the frames can be separated.
i From the foregoing description taken in connection with an inspection of the drawing,
it willbe understood that the slidable or fasteningmember20 .is movable along the rail between two'spacing members 18; and also that when the frame sections are closed with their straight inner faces in intimate contact as shown in Fig. 3') the top end of the abutment 25 will be frictionally engaged with the underneath surface of the wall 17 of the rail so that the wall portion of the fasteningmember 20, which slidably fits the underneath surface of said wall 17, can be frictiona-ll-y engaged at its inner end upon the outer bearing face of the abutment25, whereby rigidly to secure the frame sections in closed position.
I have described an embodiment of my in vention but it is clear that. changes may be made therein without departingffrom the spirit of my invention as defined in the appended claims.

1. A fastening device for bag frames comprising two frame sections having flat inner faces to fit throughouttheir extents in flat facewise contact,.a rail surmounting the top of one sectionand overhanging the flat face thereof, the overhanging part of the rail having an underneath bearing face forming a space between it and the top of the second section, an upstanding rib at the inner top corner of the second section, the inner face of said rib being fiat and coplanar with the inner flat face of the second section to fit therewith inflat facewise contact against the insectlon, the top edge of said rib comprising'a cam working edge to contact the underneath bearing face of said overhanging part'and thus secure a preliming contact with the underneath bearing face of said overhanging part, the inner reach of said arm being-such that-its free inner edge affords a cam working edge to engage the outer face of said rib and thereby to complete the fastening action, with the top of said v rib engaging the underneath face of the bearing part and with the inner coplanar faces of said rib andsecond section in fiatwise contactthroughout their extents against the flat inner face of the first section. r

A fastening device for bag frames'comprising two frame sections having flat inner faces to fit throughout their extents in fiat facewise contact, a rail separate from said sections surmounting the top of one section to overhang the top of the second section, spacers in the form of pins connecting saidrail to its section, the overhanging part of said rail having an underneath bearing face forming a space between it and the top of the second section, an upstanding rib at the inner top corner of the second section and having an inner face which is flat and coplanar with the inner face of the second section to fit therewith in flat facewise contact against the inner flat face of the first section and within said space, the top edge of said rib comprising a cam working edge to contact the underneath-bearing face of said rail and thus secure a preliminary fastening action, a fastening element slidable along said rail for engaging said rib, the part of the fasten.- ing element for engaging said rib comprising an arm in sliding engagement with said underneath bearing face and having a free inner edge which serves as a cam working edge to engage the outer face of said rib and thereby to complete the fastening action, with the inner coplanar faces of said rib and outer section pressed facewise throughout their eXtents against the flat inner face of the first section and within the compass of said surmounting rail.
