Inthe accompanying drawings wherein I cate the side plates .of my improvedhanger structure. Arranged at corresponding ends ,ofthe side plates 10 and 11 are corner structures 12 and 13 and arranged at opposite corresponding ends of the side plates 10 and 11 in which the rod 17 extends in the corner structure 15 an opening is provided into which a rod 18 is extended and the rod 18 is arranged so that it will extend into the corner structure 15 in a manner such that the end portion thereof will fit into a recess 19 formed inthe end of the r0d17 as is clearly depicted in Fig. .9. The opposite end of the rod 18fsimilarly extends into the corner construction 14 and is connected to the rod 16 in the same manner as the opposite end thereof isconnected to the rod 17. A similar rod.
20 extends between the corner constructions 12 and'13 and is similarly connectedt-o the rods 16 and 17 and in this manner the frame of the supporting structure is defined. 7
In each of the side frames 10 and 11 adj acent the corner structures hanger bars are attached. These hanger bars are attached'in the following manner: In the side plate 10 slots 21 and 22 are formed. In the side plate 11 slots 23 and 24 are formed. The hanger bars are indicated by 25 and 26, the hanger bar extending between the side plates 10 and 11 at the ends thereof at which the slots 21 and 23 are disposed While the hanger bar 26 extends between the side plates adjacent the ends having the slots 22 and 24 associated therewith. At each of the ends of the bars 25 and 26 I arrange a plate such as 27. Each plate has a lug such as 28 extending from one edge thereof adjacent one end in which a restricted opening is provided. Bolt members such as 29 are extended through the slots and the opening in the lug 28 and are screwed into the adjacent ends of the bars 25 and 26 and in this manner the bars 25 and 26 are clamped in position. In addition to the clamping attained by the bolt members 29 I arrange in the plate 27 a plurality of openings 30 in the portions thereof extending along the side plates and in the side plates adjacent these portions I arrange the pins 31 each of which projects into a selected one of the openings 30 and in this manner the hanger bars 25 and 26 are supported in position. The hanger bars 25 and 26 are employed to support a hanger such as that indicated by 32 in the drawings which include at the upper end a strip 33 which has hook portions 34 and 35 at the ends thereof and the hook portions 24 and 25 are disposed over the bars 25 and 26 and in this manner the hangers 32 are supported in position. The adjustability provided for the bars 25 and 26 is such that these bars may be positioned so as to be spaced apart in different amounts since hangers such as the hanger 32 are made in different lengths and, therefore, the hook portions 34 and 35 will be spaced apart in difi'erent amounts on different hangers and, therefore, since the bars 25 and 26 are adjustable these dillerent length hangers may be expeditiously arranged in the device.
At substantially the midpoint in the extent of the side plates 10 and 11 I provide upstanding plates 36 and 37 which are secured to the side plates in any approved manner. Extended between these plates 36 and 37 is a hanger bar 38. In Fig. 7 I have depicted the manner in which the hanger bar 38 is secured to the side plate 36. An opening 39 is provided in the side plate 36 through which the adjacent end of the bar 38 is projected and a bolt'40 is threaded into the screw threaded opening 31in the end of the bar 38. In a similar manner the bar 38 is connected to the side plate 37. The bar 38 is employed to support clothes hangers such as that indicated by 42 in the drawings which has a hook structure 43 extending upwardly therefrom substantially midway between the ends thereof.
A reenforcing rod 44 extends between the side plates 36 and 37 and as is clearly illus trated in Fig. 8 the ends of this reenforcing rod are extended into suitable openings in the side plates. Clips such as 45 are provided which have openings therein through which the rod 44 is extended and the clips 45 include nook portions which fit over either the rod 16 or 17 and in this manner the reenforcing rod 44 serves to properly brace the structure.
At the upper ends of the corner structures 12 and l3, l4 and 15 I mount resilient portions which in. the present instance are substantially hemispherical in shape and which are made from a pliable material such as vulcanized rubber and these portions are indicated by 46.
Extending upwardly from the vertical plates 36 and 37 are hook structures 47 and 48. The hook structures 47 and 48 are intended to be fitted. over a suitable horizontal support 49 which may be for example a transverse rod in a closet or which may be supported by vertically extending standards 50 and 51 which have the relatively wide foot portions 52 associated therewith as is clearly illustrated in l igs. 1 and 10. lvhen this latter structure is e -iployed it is readily apparent that the device may be mounted at any desired point.
The supporting structure hereintofore described is intended to support a suitable fabric member which will provide a housing. This fabric member includes a top portion which rests on the resilient portions 46 and includes side Walls which depend from this top portion and a suitable bottom is provided to extend between the side walls. One of the side walls of this fabric structure is made in two portions indicated by 53 and 54 which are intended to be oined together in any ap proved manner as to the use of buttons or any other desired connecting means. If a button structure is employed it is preferable that an additional strip indicated by 55 be associated with one of the portions 53 or 54 interiorly thereof along the edge intended to join the other portion and in this strip 55 the button holes will be provided while the buttons will be secured on the edge of the other of the portions.
It is apparent from the foregoing description that I have provided an expeditious construction in which clothes may be mounted so as to be kept free from dust and the like and I have arranged this device in a manner such that it may be expeditiously arranged at any desired point.
WVhile I have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying my invention into effect, this is capable of variation and modification, without departing from the spirit of the invention. I, therefore, do not wish to be limited to the precise details of construction set forth, but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as come Within the scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention What I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
1. A supporting frame including side plates having slots formed therein adjacent bars in predetermined positions with respect theends thereof, parallel bars extendingbetween said side plates, connecting plates at the ends of said parallel bars, attaching means extended through the slots in said side plates andinto the ends of said bars through said connecting plates whereby to secure said parallel bars to said side plates, said connecting plates having a' plurality of aligned openings therein,studs on said side plates whereby said studs onsaidside plates may be selectively inserted through said openings to retainsaid connecting plates and said parallel bars in predetermined positions with respect to each other. i r
