The invention relates primarily to washing machines for the conical disks of cream separators and has reference more particularly to a brush head whose brushes are posi- 6 tioned to engage either the outer or the'inner side of the disks to be-washed. It is the principal object of the invention to provide a unique adjustable mounting for connecting the bases of the brushes with a shaft-carried disk in such manner that said brushes may be quickly and easily set at any desired distance from the center of the shaft thereby adapting them for Washing disks of different sizes. i V With the foregoing in view, the invention 7 resides in the novel subjectmatter hereinafter described and claimed, description being accomplished by reference to the accomj panying drawings. v Fig. 1 is a vertical sectional view ofa disk washer embodying my improvements. 7
Fig. 2 is a horizontal sectional view on 22ofFig.'1. j Figs. '3 and 4 aredetail vertical sectional views onlines 33 and4-'4 of Fig. 2.

Fig. 5 is a perspective view of one ofthe brush-carrying disks and one of thebrush bases in juxtaposition. 7
Two of the improvedbrush heads Hand H are shown in a water tank T, ;saidheads being drivenby vertical shafts S whichpass throughstufling boxes B,saidshafts being in v1 turn driven by gearingG on a drive shaft D. Each head, fi H embodies a -disk 10 which'in the present "showin rests ,on'a flange F secured to the shaft ,said flange beingprovided with an upstandingwpm I The disk 10Iis provided with a central openingll receiving the upper endof shaft S and ,with an off-centeropening 12 receiving the pin P, adriving connection beingi'thus estab 1 lished between the brush head and the shaft S, of such'nature as to permit quick andeasy detachment of said brush head simply by lifts ing it; i
The upper side of the 10,;isprovided I with a plurality of integral radialribsT13 grooves beingin the portions ofthe disk washing disks of various sizes. I of these nuts tightly clamps the brushes in .ment may be rapidly effected. Then too,
1 may be made. 1 i p A brush head comprisinga shaft-car- Cried disk having-a plurality of radial ribs on andthe lower sideof said'disk is formed with-"191 f. Slim a pluhrality I(lif bI1iSl1e1S (li1a1)V11ng.Cl12 1I1 adial' rooves 14*said' 'i1c e as'es, W ose c anne s s 1 a y recelV an equal plurality of; b said ribs, and bolt and slot connections befloo 19739. stat-1 m1 aerate;
whichtare thickened by theribs 13. Disk 10" if? is :alsogprovidedr With, a plurality; of radial fslots]1;5,;,whic'h. open'into the grooves let and through the upper sides of the ribsfl3. The brushes 1630f thejhead 1H converge upwardly and those of the head H diverge upwardly for washing; the interior, and exterior respectively of the. separator disks. The lower ends of these'brushes are provided with longitudinally channeled bases 17 whose channels ,eo
"slidably receive the ribs 13, said bases being provided with bolt-holes 18 registering with. the slots 15. Bolts 19 pass through the holes 18 and the slots 15 and are provided with flatsidedheads 20 Which are slidably but nonrotatably received in the grooves 14. Clamping nuts 21 are threaded upon the upper ends of the bolts 19 and abut the upper sides of I the bases 17.
By loosening the nuts 21, the bases 17 may be adjusted inwardly oroutwardly with respect to the shaft S to set the brushes 16 for Tightening adjusted position and due to the arrangement of coactingribs and channels,only one bolt is necessary for each brush base 17. It
is'thus an easy matter to adjust the brushes as may be desired and moreover the adjust- .9 whenever it is advisable to entirely remove the brushesfrom the disks,for instance to .permitthorough cleanin and sterilizing of the parts, this may be quickly and easily ace complished; This is seldom necessary howat ever, as each brush head H.,H may be"? bodily removed from the driving shaft s, =thoroughlywashed and placed eitherv in the: jsterilizer or in the open air or sunlight.
\ On account of the existing advantages for the detailsdisclosed, these details are preferably followed. However, within the scope of the I invention as claimed, minor variations a tween said bases and ribs allowing setting of the brushes any desired distance from the disk axis. a
2. A brush head comprising a shaft-carried disk having a plurality of radial ribs on one side and an equal plurality of radial grooves in its other side, the grooves bei' formed in the disk portions thickened by rib, said disk having also a plurality of radial slots outer si es of said ribs, a lurality of brushes which 0 en into said grooves and through the j a having channeled basesw ose channeli Slidkr 1 l bly receive said ribs, said bases being provided with bolt holes registerin with said 81085 1 bolts having heads slidably ut non-rotatably received in said grooves, said bolts passin through said slotsand said bolt holes, an clamping nuts threaded on said bolts an 7 abutting said bases. a
' In "testimony whereof I have hereunto afix'ed my signature. V
