I The present invention which is a division of my copending application No. 229,508 filed October 28, 1927, relates to a modified embodiment of a nut-lock of the type described and broadly claimedin the above mentioned patent application.
An object of tlie invention is to provide a nut-lock of'the general type disclosed in the main patent a plication and which will be chiefly suitable or heavy bolts such as the bolts for railway fish-plates;
Another object of the invention is to provide means whereby the locking spring may occupy various positions with respect to the carrying member. A further object resides in the provision of anut-lock of the type referred to which will be eflicient and durable in operation, al-

According to the present invention, the upper edge of the flange is turned in so as to form a kind of groove for the purpose of maintaining the s ring in a plane perpendicular to the axis 0 the bolt. The operation is as, follows.
