IMPROVEMENT IN WAGON-SPRINGS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 177,260, dated May 9, 1876; application filed February 7, 1876.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. MARBLE,
of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain Improvements in Carriages, of which the following is a specification My invention relates to an improved form of running-gear, so arranged that the springs will be outside the body of the vehicle, and are of such form as to afford a very easy and elastic support for the body, while the elasticity of the said springs can also be governed or regulated by a sliding clamp upon each.

The length and form of the spring are such as to make it very elastic, andthus afl'ord an easy support for the body. If the elasticity be too great, the play of the spring can be reduced by sliding outward a clamp, F, which embraces the bar and spring, which clamp is provided with a set-screw, b, to secure it in position.
I am aware that C -spri n gs have before been attached to babycarriages, so as to be outside of the line of the body of such carriages, and I do hereby disclaim the broad invention thereof but What I claim as my invention is- 1. The clamp F, in combination with the springs C and reaches B, as and for the pur pose set forth.
2. The combination, with the body D,ot' the arched reaches B, the C-springs C, the pins a, and the sliding clamps F, all constructed and arranged substantially as described and shown.
