This invention relates to portable cigar lighters.
This invention has utility vwhen incorporated in lighters embodying a. pyrophoric alloy andan abrader to coact therewith, and is especially adapted for lighters of pocket size. Referring to the drawings:

The parts are easily produced and quickly assembled, and anyn damaged part may be manually replaced. The pyrophoric alloy is quickly reserviced. The device when covered presents a small, neat, cylindrical unit conveniently carried in` the pocket and quickly brought into.` use. The casing ma'- terial may be a pheno-condensation product and variously colored thereby adding to the appearance of the lighter. The abrader being carried by the reservoir insures fumes about the wick and proper wick spacing as to the abrader is maintained, and burning may be had to the full extent of fuel in the reservoir.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:
l. In a lighter, the combination of an open ended tubular reservoir with aburner tip, a plug with flattened sides disposed in the said urner tip to form wick passages, the said plug having a depression or well at its center communicating with the wick passages, and a central scratcher pin carried by ythe said plug.
2. In a lighter, the combination of an open ended tubular reservoir with a burner tip, a plug with flattened sides disposed in the secured to said wick retainer between said wicks, a base engaging the sides of said reservoir and sealing the open end thereof, and a cover fitting over said wick and abrading device and carrying pyrophoric materialto be engaged by said abrading device secured to said wick retainer.
7. In a lighter, a tubular fuel reservoir havinga wick end and an open end, a wick retainer in said wick end, detachably secured thereto, a-wick therein, an abrading device adjacent said wick, a base frictionally engaging the sides of said reservoir and sealing the open end thereof, and a cover fitting over said wick and abrading device and frictionally engaging said reservoir and carrying pyro horic material to be engaged by said abra ing device. i 8. In a lighter, a tubular fuel reservoir having a wick end and an open end, a wick retainer having two fiat sides and detachably connected tosaid wick end, a wick adjacent l each side, and abrading device between said wicks, a base frictionally engaging the sides of said reservoir and sealing the open end thereof, and a cover fitting over said wick and abrading device and frictionally engaging said reservoir and carrying pyrophoric material to be engaged by said abrading device. i
