Due to the fact that the packing 33 is necessarily slightly yieldable, the shock of the contact of the `end 36 of the agitator shaft will be cushioned.
F rom the foregoing construction, it is also apparent that the device may be readily and easily assembled without the necessity of employing any special tools or the services of expe-rt mechanics. The assembly of the parts israccomplished in approximately the following manner: The upper end of the agitator shaft withthe manipulator head or button removed is inserted through the lower end of the plunger shaft 22 after the packing .has been initially introduced into the plunger shaft and the manipulator head or button 39 is then attached; next, the spring 32 is engaged over the projecting lower end of the agitator shaft 30 and inserted into the plunger shaft 22 until its upper end convolution engages vthe spring seat or collar 3l; the lower end of the agitator' shaft is next inserted through thebearing opening 28 in the bottom wall orvflange 27 of the plunger 15 and the exteriorly threaded lower end 25 of the plunger shaft is then threadedly engaged within the internally threaded recess 26; the agitator head 34 is vthen positioned over the reduced threaded lower end 36 of the agitator shaftinto engagement with the shoulder 37,
