.This invention relates to filing devices. It is an object of the invention to provide a device which may readily be attached, for example, to a drawer in 5 vide adjustable partitions in the drawer.

A further object iseto provide the adjustable partitions in such drawers with locking means for securing them in place.

While I have shown my invention in connection with a filing cabinet, it of course is not limited to that use as it will readily lend itself to any system of boxes or drawers in which it is desired to have adjustable par titions. r I g It will be obvious to those skilled in the art that'various changes may be made in my device without departing from the spirit of the invention, and I therefore do not limit myself to what is shown in the drawings and described in the specification, but only as set forth in the appended claims.

In a filing cabinet having drawers therein, means for dividing the drawers into 5 a plurality of compartments comprising a notched rail secured upon each side of the drawer, anda plurality of partition plates havingtheir endsengaging the notches in the said rails and means for locking the plates to the rails, substantially as set forth.
