The invention relates, to a cabinet that is designed to be used in cleansing dining-table articles, such as plates, cups and saucers, and various kinds of dishes, and also silver-ware and cooking utensils, the invention having reference more particularly to a cabinet of the above-mentioned character that is adapted to be readily moved from room to room and be suitable for family use.

is An object of the invention is to provide facilities for cleansing household utensils and chinaware or similar articles in a convenient and sanitary manner, with a purpose of lightening the work of those on whom diswashing devolves.

Another object is to provide an improved cabinet that shall be of such construction as to be adapted to be readily moved about and to enable one to take care of the dishwashing 2o problem in a home with the least possible exertion and effort.

A. further object is to provide an improved cabinet that shall be of simple and inexpensive construction and which shall be adapted to be compact and convenient for the various operations consequent to the clearing of a dining-table and the washing of dishes and other articles, and which shall be durable and economical in use. 7

l Vith the above-mentioned and other objects in view, the invention consists in a wheel-equipped vehicle constructed as a cabinet in which articles maybe cleansed and sterilized, drained and dried, the'cabinet having a compartment to receive garbage and also a compartment to hold towels; the inven tion consisting further in the parts and com binationsand arrangements of parts as hereinafter particularly described and further de- 4 fined in the appended claims.

Preferably also a bushing 21 is inserted in the lower portion of the partition 6 and a plug 22 is inserted therein to permit cleansing water to flow from the garbage compartment into the adjacent washing tank and out through the drain cook 20. The combination lid and drain board comprises a cover slab 24 adapted to entirely cover the body part, being provided with a continuous marginal flange 25 to extend slightly down on the outer side of the body part, and being suitable when the lid is 111- vertecl to retain articles thereon while draining, the middle portion preferably having a partitional cleat 26 intermediate of the end portion of the flange, the normal under s de of thelid having a metallic lining 27 and side lining 28, the cleat being limited in length to permit water to flow past its ends. One shorter end portion of the flange has drain holes 29 therein to permit water to flow into the rinsing tank when the device is arranged as a drain board resting upon the partition 7 and suitably inclined, in which position the drain board is supported in a novel manner. 31 and 31 are pivotally connected to them to be swung upward and support the drain board at an inclination upon the body part, each prop having a handle loop 32 whereby the cabinet may be pulled and guided.

For securing the drain board in place with its lower end upon the partition 7 an anchor base 33 is secured to the board in proximity to the end that has the drain holes 29 on the opposite side of the lid and it has pivot pins 34 to which a loop 35 is connected, the loop having fingers 36 to engage the lid and limit relatively pivotal movement, the loop having a projecting lug 37 to enter a bushing 38 secured in the upper portion of the partition 7 and prevent tilting of the drain board if overbalanced on the props by weight of dishes upon a higher portion of the drain board.

In order to care for the combined cover and drain board when not required for use the slab portion 24 is provided with

the kitchen where sterilizing hot water is poured into the washing tank and also into the adjacent rinsing tank, strong detergent solution being added to the water in the washing tank in which the dishes are permitted to remain until thoroughly cleansed of all foreign matter, particularly grease, after which the basket 23 is lifted out of the tank with the dishes therein and lowered into the adjacent rinsing tank, the dishes becoming sterilized because of the high temperature of the a;

Another basket containing dishes may be placed in the washing tank and cleansed, and the basket in the rinsing tank may be alternately lifted and lowered to finally rinse the dishes therein and may immediately be lifted from the tank, after which the lid may be inverted and placed in position upon the body part to become a drain board as shown in Fig. 4 and on which a basket of rinsed dishes may be placed, or the dishes may be removed from the basket and separately placed upon the drain board to remain until they become dry, the drainage water flowing down into the rinsing tank. At will the dishes may be removed and their lower portions completely dried by means of a towel if needed. The tanks are emptied by simply opening the

20 and 20, and for sanitary purposes the garbage compartment is thoroughly cleansed by use of a solution which may be conveniently drained through the bushing 21 after removing the stopper 22 and finally through the stop cook 20. When it is desired to move the cabinet one may conveniently grasp the loop 35 to move the cabinet if more convenient to the operator, or when the operator is at the opposite end of the cabinet the latter may be readily moved by the loop 22 of the props, the lid being in position to cover the body part of the cabinet.

What is claimed as new is:

1. A dish-washing cabinet including a body part, and a separate portable lid hav ing a drain-board-shaped under side and adapted to be removably arranged invertibly upon the body part and having a flange on its under side marginal portion, the flange normally encompassing the top of the body part one portion of the flange having a drainhole therein.

2. A dish-washing cabinet including an open-top hollow body part having a transverse vertical partition interrnediately of opposite ends thereof, a separate portable lid having a drain-board-shaped under side and adapted to be removably placed invertibly upon the body part, said under side having a flange on its marginal portion to encompass the top of the body part, one portion of the flange having a drain-hole therein, a prop adjustably mounted on one of said opposite ends to support said lid at an inclination when inverted, and an adjustable anchor device to co-operate with the upper portion of said partition and also with the lower portion of the inverted lid in proximity to said drain-hole.

3. A movable carrying dish-Washing cabinet comprising a body part, a separate portable lid adapted to be invertibly placed upon the body part, the lid being longer than the greatest length of the body part and having a flange on its marginal portion to encompass the top of the body part, one portion of the flange having a drain-opening therein, an anchor device to co-operate with the top of the lid in proximity to the drain-opening and having a lug to engage a portion of the body part when the lid is inverted thereon, and a prop hinged to one end of the body part and adjustable to support the inverted lid at an inclination.

4. A dish-washing cabinet comprising a body part, a lid removably arranged upon the body part and having a flange on its marginal portion, one portion of the flange having a drain-hole therein, an anchor device hinged to the top of the lid in proximity to the drain-hole and having a handle loop, the anchor device having a lug to engage a portion of the body part when the lid is inverted thereon, and two props hinged to one end of the body part to support the inverted lid at an inclination, each prop having a handle 7 loop.

5. In a dish-washing cabinet, the combination of a body part having transverse partitions therein, one of the partitions having an aperture in the upper portion thereof, a drain-board to rest upon the partition and having an anchor device connected thereto to be inserted into the aperture, and a prop co-operating with the body part to support In testimony whereof, we aflix our signa-- tures on the 30th day of September, 1927.
