An object of the invention is to provide an improved stand of electric heaters for hairwaving operations which shall be of such construction as to he adapted to operate-advantageously and efficiently.

AThe improved hair waving apparatus comprises a suitable base l and a standard main part 2 secured thereto and having a pipe cross Son its top to which a curved arm 4 is secured and then reaches laterally asuitable distance, the end ofthe armhaving aknob vthereon provided witha downward extending neck 6. branch being adapted to cover electric wiring.

The cross Yhas a lateral branch 1l into which an electric circuitwire cable 12 extends that has a plug 13 thereon for `connection with a service socket. The dome has an. inclined section lwhich has a suitable connection 15, permanent or detachable `as may be desired, with the cylindrical portion 9 from which it extends inwardly to form a side portion or a bottom part ofthe dome if so preferred. The part l/fhas a plurality of guide bushings 16 set therein to smoothly guide heater supporting cords. As preferably constructed the part 14 has a downward'extendingneclr portion 17 provided on its lower edge with an inward extending seat portion 18 providedy with a suitable number of projecting studs 19.`

The dome has a central hanger post 20, preferably tubular, that extends through the crown portion 7 and is screwed into the neck 6, the post being ofl suitable length to extend downward considerablylower than the con peet-ion `15. -A nut 21 is screwed onto thev No upper portion of the post against the crown port-ion 7 to rigidly secure the parts together, and the lower end'of the post has a projecting screw-thread stud 22 suitably7 fixed thereon.

The dome has a unitary adjusting apparatus mounted therein so as to be readily removed or replaced and as preferably constructed comprises a top frame plate 23 and a bottom frame plate 24 to which a suitable numberof guide rods 25 are connected, each of the rods having a nut 26 thereon that engages the top of the plate 23, the rods extending through the plate 24, a number of the rods having each a nut 27 on its lower portion engaging the under side of the bottom plate. The top plate 23 adapted to slide over the post 20, having a suitable centralwhole to receive the post, and the plate 24 has a suitable central hole to receive the stud 22 over which the plate may be slipped into contact with the lower end of the post to be secured in place by means of a nut 28 screwed onto the stud. Each guide rod has a guide base 29 thereon arranged on the under side of the plate 23 and supporting a cord guide 30 and preferably a similar vguide 31, said guides preferably being composed of wire integral with the base, the base being secured in place by means'of anut 32 on the rod. Preferably each guide rod has anoise-silencer washer 33 thereon in enga-gement with the nut 32, and each rod has also asimilar washer 34 thereon in contact with the top of the bottom plate 24. yAlso those rods lthat have nuts 27 thereon have also a nut 35 on the upper side of the plate 24 beneath the washer. A plurality of weights 36 are provided, one on each'guide rod, eachv weight preferably having a lining tube 37 fixed therein that has sliding contact with the guide rod. The top of each weight is provided with an eye 38 andV preferablya cord guide 39 'in the form of an e'ye. A suitable number'of cords 40 are provided and each cord is connected to the eye 38 and reeved through the guide r30, thencethroug'li the guide 39, thence through the guide 31 and thence through a guide bushing 16, each CordV being connected to and adjustably supporting a hollow electric heater 41 of conventional or suitable construction.

rlhe dome has a removable bottoni part which `preferably comprises a saucer-shaped central member 42that`is suitably connected to theV stud 22 and'secured in place by a cap nut 43 screwed-onto the stud. The marginal portion of the member 42 has a ledge 44 assisting to support the 'plate 24, and an outspreading side portion45 connected with the ledge and having a bench portion 46 thereon that preferably extends slightly upward and has a jointflange 47 thereon adapted to embrace the neck 17, the bench portion having suitable holes to receive the studs 19 on which cap nuts 48 are screwed to secure the bottom number of electric connecting plugreceptacles 49 are secured to the bench portion 46, plugs 50 being removably connected to the receptacles and having electric circuit wire cords 51 connected thereto, usuallytwo to a plug, each cord being connected with a heater 41, and the bench has also a lamp socket 52 mounted thereon to hold a lamp bulb. An electric-switch 53 is mounted on the bench portion 46 conveniently near to the branch 10. Thecircuit wires for conducting electric currentl to the conducting Vcables 51 are not shown, obviously it being conventional to properly connect the receptacles together and with the switch andthe cable 12. l

Sincethe frequent adjustments of the cords 40 may be necessary in operation the cords may require replacements which may be rapidly accomplished when the bottom part of the dome is removed from place and the adj ustment apparatus unit is lowered and sepalrated from the hanger post, so that the-old cords may readily be disconnected from the weights and new cords connected thereto and reeved through the cord guides and easily brought through the guides 16, various parts being readily accessible.

In practical use the electric heaters are drawn down to the subject to be treated who may be seated under the dome, and strands yof hair are suitably arranged in the heaters, the electric conducting cables being more or less slack while the cords are kept taut by the adjusting weights to support the heaters and prevent them from tilting over from the desired positions. Y The weights 36 are suflicient with the aid of gravity to draw up vthe slack in the cords when the heaters are manually lifted, the cord guides affording frictional resistance suiiicient to prevent lifting of the weight by the weight of the heaters when they are released. Thus the heaters are adjustably supported yat the desired levels and may be readily readj usted asmay be desired.

1. A hair-waving apparatus having a dome and aself-contained adjusting. apparatus unitarily supported therein for ready removal, the adjusting apparatus including cords and weights thereon, guide rods for the weights, andguides for the cords.

2. A hair-waving apparat-us having a dome and aunitaryl adjusting apparatus including two spaced apart frame plates, guide rods connecting said'plates, `the plates ybeing'removably supported in the dome, weights movable on the rods, cords'conneoted to the weights, and cord guides on the rodsadjacentv to one of the plates. y

3. A hair-waving apparatus having Aa dome with a center-post anda unitary separately portable adjusting apparatus located in the dome and including two separated frame plates, one of the plates being detachably securedto the center-post, a plurality of guide iso rods connecting the plates, weights movable on the rods respectively, cord guides supported by the rods respectively, cord guides secured to the dome, cords connected to the weights and guided by the' guides, and electric heaters supported by the cords.

4. A hairy-waving apparatus including a Y dome having a crown part, a hanger post centrally secured vat its top to the crown part and having a projecting stud on its lower end, a unit frame removably arranged on the hanger post and having guide rods and cord guides, weights movable on the rods, cords extending through the cord guides and connected to the weights, a device to detachably secure the unit trame to thehanger post, and a dome bottom part detachably secured to the crown part and also to the unit .frame by means of said stu i 5. 6. In hair-wavingapparatus, the combination of a sectional hollow dome, a post secured to the upper and lower sections ot the dome,`a unit frame within thedome and comprising two separate plates and guide rods secured thereto, the rods connecting the plates together, the upper one of said plates being guided on said post and the lower one of the plates detachably secured to the post,

guide eyes mounted on the upper portions of said rods, weights movable on said rods, and

cords connected to kthe weights and extending through said eyes.

7.' In a hair-waving apparatus, the combi nation of a dome comprising a crown'part and-a hanger post secured thereto, the dome having a bottom part secured to the post, a frame within the dome detachably secured to the post and having guide rods and cord guides, weights movable on the guide rods, flexible cords connected to theweights and reeved through the cord guides, the cords being also guided by the dome, and electric heaters connected to the cords.

8. In a hair-waving apparatus, the combi-rV means adjacent tothe upper end of each rod over which means the respective cord is trained, said dome being provided with vthrough the respective guide means and guides ot said systeml as to permit the free ends to move through a greater distance than the associated weights. n
