v for supporting weather paper and plaster or stucco reinforcing and the objects of my invention are: first, to provide a device of this class to serve the double function of supporting weather paper or the like in position on the sheathing and for supporting stucco or plaster reinforcing such as hog wire, chicken wire or the like in spaced relation to said i weather paper; second, to provide a device of this class which consists of a nail and clip member, the clip being adapted to hold the plaster reinforcing while said nail is being driven into place; third, to provide a. device of this class which reduces to a minimum the tendency of the reinforcing coming loose from the reinforcing support While said support is being fastened; fourth, to provide a device of this class which holds the plaster or stucco reinforcing a uniform, predetermined distance from the weather paper and fifth, to provide a device of this class which is extremely economical of construction; sixth, to provide a device of this class which is provided with a relatively broad space which securely holds the plaster or stucco reinforcing; seventh, to provide a device of this class which has no sharp edges engageable with the plaster or stucco reinforcingthus preventing the severance of said reinforcing While it is being secured; eighth, to provide a device of this class which is easy to install, durable, eflicient and which will not readily deteriorate or get out of order. I

WVith these and other objects in view as will appear hereinafter my invention consists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts and portions which will be hereinafter described in detail and particularly set forth in the appended claims, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the characters of reference thereon which form a part of this application in which:

The loop portion 1 is adapted to be hooked over a strand of the plaster or stucco reinforcing, there being just sufficient space between the edge of the loop 1 and the stem 2 of the nail 2 to permit the insertion of the reinforcing.

When the nail is driven to the position shown by dotted lines in Fig. 1 of the drawings and as shown by solid lines in Fig. ,4

the nail head 2 closes the space between the stem and the edge of the loop 1, thereby securely holding the reinforcing in place. By making the clips relatively broad the base -member is large enough to form an effective seal around the nail hole formeo in the Weather paper W when the nail is driven into tent moisture from the stucco or plasterfrom getting on the sheathing and causing rotting Also a relatively broad clip 'S imilar characters of reference refento s'i nn lwrparts and=port1ons throughout the the sheathing S thus preventing to a large eX- forcing to be held in position while the nail is being driven in.

It is obvious from the construction as illustrated in the drawings and described in the foregoing specification that there is provided a furrowing clip as aimed at and set forth in the objects of the invention and though I have shown and described a particular construction, combination and arrangement of parts and portions I do not wish to be limited to this particular construction, combination and arrangement but desire to include in the scope of my invention, the construction, combination and arrangement substantially as set forth in the ap pended claims.

Having thus described myinvention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: i

1. In a device of the class described, a spacing clip member, curved near its central portion forming a pair of extended portions, means for holding said extended portions in spaced relation, and a hook portion formed in one of said extended portions for engaging reinforcing netting.

2. A plaster foundation, combined spacing and securing means, including spaced apart members, means punched from said members for spacing said members and forming a nail hole therethrough, a hook portion formed in one of said members for engaging reinforcing, and a nail mounted in said nail hole adapted to be driven into a wall support,

- the head thereof adapted to operate in conjunction with said hook portion for permanently securing said reinforcing.
