Figure 1 is a plan view of my improved plaiting-board. Fig. 2 is a transverse section taken on line 0; :0, and'Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section on line 3 y, Fig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A is a base-board, on which is a thin plate of brass, B, or other suitable material, as wide as the widest goods to be plaited and of any approved length, along each edge of which a flange,'0, is turned up, said flanges being perforated with a row of holes, D, placed close together for rods or needles E. Along one side is a stop-bar, F, to preventthe needles from being shoved through too far. At one end of the board is a clamping-plate, H, fixed on pivots I, and having a handle, J, by which to work it for fastening the cloth.
The cloth is doubled around two or three or more of the wires, as shown, for plaiting it, and the plaits are fastened by stretching it along the edges after being plalted.
The wires are drawn out to release the plaits when completed.
Havin g thus described myinvention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The plate B, with perforated flanges G, wires or needles E, and the holding-clamp H, combined and arrangedsubstantially as specified.
