My invention relates to conductor clamps and particularly to clamps: for suspending high-voltage transmission-line conductors' or cables.` f i V-One object of my 'invention is to provide ay cleviceot1` `the' above-indicated character that shall be constructed of readily renew-V ableparts." V
'f lnother object of myinvention-is to pro'- vide a conductor clamp thatshall embody anr member for selective' cooperation `vvith other members "Which may be of different sizes andshapes, f
Another object of my `invention is to provide a multi-part clamp that.' shall have; aA single means for securingthe parts tojeacli otherl and clamping`-`a`-`conductor relative tl.1ereto.``
f my invention'is lto provide'a conductor suspension clamp that shall be simplefrand `durable inconstruction,
t, economical .to manufacture and effective in `its operation.`
`In" suspending high voltage transmission 'eline conductors or cables, it has been usual to provide' clamps v`.having conductonreceiving members of substantiallychannel-shape,
each Aconstructed of one integral piece'.4
" `Vlfhile such channel members may accom-` modate cables "of slightly dierent diameters,`it isV generally necessaryto construct them of dilerentg sizes for conductors *of appreciably y 'different diameters. ""Suoh' channel members have' also been' constructn ed of variable lengths in accordance with` various'` 'coiiductorH diameters and service conditions.
i "Thus, byfhaving channelmember oneintegrfall piece, damage to one part ,mayv
necessitatexthe scrapping of rthe entire finem-` ber -`and itis necessary `l`to `carry .a relatively large stock of themembersqfor clamps of dilferentsiZfesQ., c Y. i
In practicingwmy invention, I provldeiamultipart channellfmembenin which one partlmay be fofi'standardsize jandj shapel and the "others fof *variable 1 A sizes A and shapes,
whereby damaged parts may bereuewed,"
Without scrapping the entire member, and
form ofmy invention.
clamps of different sizesmay befvmadc up from fewer stoclrparts. l t
Further, sincev the member 1s made up of smaller and simpler component parts, it requires less complicated dies or molds and w is accordingly, of easier andmore economi` cal manufacture than a similar 'member in in accordance With my invention,
Fig. 2 is fa side elevational veW'fo theYV clamp shown in Fig. l, i A f JFigs. 3, 4, 5 and 6 a e detail views of parts "of the clamps shown in the other `figures,- and'V f' Figs.7,to 12, inclusive, are views similar toFigs. l to 6, respectively, of a "modified Referringto Figs. ltof', inclusive, fthe device' comprises a channel structure 2 'fordisposition'at one side', preferably the under-V` side, of a conductor 3, a-clamping shoe 1l,
for engagingthe opposite side otheA con-` ductorand clamping bolts 5 that' are held in positionbylock Washers 6 and nuts 7. The channel structure 2 Which,.1n similar-` clamps, is ordinarilyconstructed as `one integral -or homogeneous memberV 1s, 1n :this instance, of multi-part construction comprising `a central suspensionmemberor supporting element 9 and renewable or removable Vend portions l0.- Y Y l The suspensionelement. 9,' asV shown more i clearly in 'F-igs. 3 and 4is offsubstantially Ushape in crosssection having central suspension portions l2 Y .and oppositely proj ecting lower `ertensions' lll. The elementi, 9
further comprises apertured. laterally` eX-` tending projections; 15,( longitudinally eX- tending reinforcingribsl and laterally er@ tending meinforcing ribs 1,7 i .Theend members` 10 re,-
apc rtured side bosses 19 for disposition over thelugs 15, of fthe element `9, end surfaces 2() 'for abutting engagement Withv surfaces 21 on'the element 9 andbottomlsurfaces V22,r for resting position surfaces 23 ofthe extensions 14.
' 'In the above 'described structure, each `of the Aelements 9 and lOYhas Aa conductorrer` rovided` l l or" 'homogeneous piece that longitudinally spans the intersections of the longitudinally sectionalized lower channel member 2.
When the parts are assembled, as inFi'gs."'
1 and 2, tightening or the nutsr(V clamps the shoe 4 against the conductor 3 which, in.
turn, clamps the end-portions l securely in position against the extensions-14 on the element 9. Y
In the above described struct-ure, the members lO may be of different lengthsand have other characteristics different'- fromthe members shown, such as h-aving the flared ends ofgreaft'er-or less curvaturein accordance with the service for. which they are intended. Also, should any of the `parts 9 or V10 become damaged, theyl may be salvaged or renewed individual-ly, without scrapping the entire channel structure. 1
As shown in Figs. 7 to l2,.inclu'sive, in whichcorresponding parts are designated by corresponding reference characters, the construction is similar to: that above described, with the exception vthat theinter-f mediate portion of the elementy 9, instead of having `its-inner surface constitute a part- 'of the ychannel for' engagement With the conductor 3, is adapted to embrace inner channel extensions 'on the members 10, which are disposed in end-'to-endarelationwith eachother, as indi-cated by a line-3l in Figs. 7 and 8. H
By thisconstruction, in addition to the vari-ations permitted in' the 4length -of thef members 1 0 and -the'flares of :the end portions 25, the channel may lbe of relatively Widely.v different diameters to accommodate greater variety of conductors Vthan in-y clamps heretoforeyemployed.
While I have shown andde'scribed particular forms of my invention,'changesmay be effected thereinr without departingfrom the spirit and scope thereof, fas set forth in the appended claims. I claim -as my invention n f l. A clamp comprising a multi-part conductor-receiving structure for position :fat

3. vA clamp comprising a conductor-receiving channel structure including separable portions constituting sections of a continuous .channel element.
IL'A clamp 'comprising aconductor-receiving channel structure including separabler end-to-end related channel sections constituting sections of. afco'nti-nuous channel element.-

8, ca bleclampv comprising an intermediate suspension member embodying a lower channel portion for `rsupporting the cable, ,alignedy 'channel members Vprojectin opposi'telyfrom .said channel portion, an means for securing each of vsaid ,channel members to said suspension member. and lamping a conductorinrthe channel memers.
9. A clamp comprising an .intermediate suspension member. :embodying a lower portion of substantially-U-shape in cross-section having oppositely-'projecting extensions, aligned channel'members projecting oppositely. from said [suspension member, and common..mea ns forsecnring each ofsaid channelmembers to one o'fsaidextensions and clamping va conductor in the adjacent channel member. Y i
l0. A clamp comprisingl ahconductor-receiving member `for position at one side of the conductor and constructed ofl'ongitudinal's'ecti'ons, a single member for position at the opposite side of the kconductor 'having portions opposite-two of'said sections,'a`nd means for clamping the conductor and holding saidmembersftoget'her. 1`
ll. clamp comprisingl a multi-partconductor-,recei'ving structnrefor position :at one side ofthe conductor and a single means including an element'fextending `through a plurality of said parts vto hold thesa'me together andexert aclamping action von the conductor. I Y
' 12. A cable clamp comprising `an intermediate suspension member embodying a cable-supporting channel portion, a cablereceiving channel member opposite each end of said portion and means for clamping the y cable to said cable-receiving members.
