This invention relates to a clamp and has for its object to provide a device which may be employed for the purpose of securing a portion of va mold for concrete to a structural member which is to be enclosed Within the concrete and at the same time space the moldV member a predetermined distance from the structural member.
The invention consists in a clamp for a concrete mold structure as set forth in the following specification and particularly as pointed out in the claims thereof.

The device of this invention consists of a Y clamp 5 which is utilized to secure the. mold member B to the structural member A and at the same time space said members the re- The clamp 5 embodies therein a tubular spacing member 6 which is split upon opposite sides thereof at 7 to enable a portion of the tubular member to be bent laterally to form a gripping jaw 8. Upon the opposite side of the tubular member from the gripping jaw 8 the tubular member is flared outwardly a short distance at 9 and a rectangular hole l0 is provided` therein. Mounted upon the tubular member 6 is a gripping jaw 1l, which is preferably formed of a flat bar of iron or steel, the grippingv portion of `which is bent at a suitable angle to engage the inclined surface of the flange a of the structural member A.
The gripping jaw 1l is shouldered toform a tongue portion 12 which isadapted to be inserted withinV the hole 10 of the tubular member 6. The tongue 12 is, furthermore, formed in such a manner that it is necessary to tip the gripping jaw 11 in order to insert said tongue within the hole l0 and the outer end portion of the tongue flares outwardly at V13 sothat the gripping jaw ll cannot be pulled through the hole 10 without its `first being tipped into a position approximately at right angles to its normal position.`
A bolt 14 extends through a hole 15 providedtherefor in the mold member B and upwardlythrough the tubular spacing meme ber 6 and through' a hole 16 provided in the gripping jaw 11, and said bolt is uti/lized to simultaneously` clamp the mold member B to the tubular member Gand the latter` to the flange a of the structuralmember A by.

It will be understood that suitable side members (not shown in the drawings) are provided for the mold and secured in tion in a manner well known to those skilled in the art before the concrete is poured. After the concrete is set, to remove the mold member B, the bolts 15 are unscrewed from theirrespective nuts and Withdrawn, leaving the remainder of the clamp embedded in the. concrete. Y
