Thepresent invention relates to the art of toys and particularly to an improved toy horse, more especially to'the manually propelled type, hence including supporting 6 Wheels, a singleone in front and two at the rear.
The present invention has to provide, in a toy of axle at the rear for the supportof a pair of 0 wheels,' which are mounted on the axle eccentrically, that is oppositely eccentric, whereby the rear of the body of the toy horse may be given an up and down movement, and a side wabbling movement, in order to give a substantially true representation of the movement of a horse when trotting. Another purpose is to provide a conven- V tional type of steering column with'steering handles and a fork for the front wheel, the
column being mounted in the body of the toy,
so that the front wheel may swivel to the right or to the left, whereby the toy may be steered ineither direction. a

Referringto the drawing, 1 identifies the body of a toy horse, having'a head 2 and terminating at the rear in a seat 3, and swiveled on an incline through the body 1 is a steering column or post 4: which passes through a conventional type of ball bearings 5 adjacent the top and bottom of the body of the horse. A depending U-shaped frame 11 is secured at 12 to the rear portion of the body of the toy, and journaled in bearings of the arms of said frame is a rear axle 13, on which the rear supporting wheels 14: are mounted. The wheels 14 are oppositely eccentric. For instance the one on the right as shown in Figure 2 engages with the axle at a point below the center of the wheel,.while the one of the 5 left engages with the axle above the center of the wheel, so that when the-toy is propelled by the pedals, the rear axle oscillates, the while the left alternately and therefore imparting a rocking movement to the body of the toy, that is a rocking movement laterally as well as up and down movement, therefore imparting to the toy a movementlsubstantially in true representations of the movement of the body of a horse when trotting.
