SHIPPING AND nIsrLAY oAs'E ron BRIDLES A pplicati on filetl December 10, 1927. Serial naasaovo.
This invention relates to cases for transporting bridles, and the primary objectthere of is to provide such a case which shall serve but also for retaining them in 'suoh'position i that they mayvalso be exhibited while remain- 'ing in the container. A further object is to so dispose the parts that it will be difficult for the bridles'to be dislodged from their; supports during shipping. a 7 Briefly stated, the invention resides in a container provided with amovable closure and having therein a support in the form of an arm orthe'like which has appreciable width to receive the upper portion of the head strap and whichhas a slot to receive the front or forehead strap. Preferably each support is adapted to receive a plurality of bridles. Preferably. also the 'forwardend of each support is provided with guards to'pre- In the accompanying drawing, wherein one embodiment of theinvention is-disclosed by way of illustration, a perspective view of a preferred form is shown. I l
This shipping and display case has end walls 10, a back- 12, a hinged" top 14, afront wall to which a drop or flap 16 is hinged at 18 to complete the front'wall, and a plurality of bridle supporting arms 20. Eachof these arms 20 has its rear'end-secured to the back wall 12, each arm projectinghorizontally for-, ward as seenand beingprovided with a vertically disposed slot 22 which extends a con- .siderable distance back into the arm. I To the i bifurcations of these supporting arms pairs of guard fingers 2d are secured,'the upper ends of the'fingers projecting abovethe'arms as seen to prevent the bridles from slipping for ward far enough to fall ofi the supports. The supports 20 are of substantial width as shown I and are curved at 25 wherebya suitable seat vent the bridles from slipping voff.
bridles comprising a container having an front straps 28 entering slots-22 and position ng the bridles against lateral shifting. With the topfl4 in elevated position and the front "16 down as shown, the bridles are convenient-Z I ly displayed without removalfrom thesup ports; F or shipping, the flap 16 is-merely ele .vated and the top l llowered so that the lip 1d thereof will enter the longitudinal rabbet 16 in the flap. Dislodgment of the bridles is at least partially prevented by engagement of the transverse straps ,30 of the rear bridles under the respective arms20.
1' Thus a plurality of bridles 1 and exhibited on the same supports, a mere swinging movement of the closure members converting the'device'from a display case to a shipping container; Since various modifi cations of the device may be made within the scope of the claims hereunto appended, the preferred form above described is not to be considered as limiting in any sense.
I claim: v r 1. A bridle case comprising a container, a bridle s'upportmounted therein and projecting horizontally, said support being bifurcated vertically,-and guards projecting ups. ward from theiouter end of the support to I prevent thebridles from slipping therefrom. 2. A shipping anddisplay case for animal is provided for the'upper portion of the head i I strap 26 of eachbridle placed thereon, While the front strapor forehead' piece 28 passes between the bifurcations and lies in the slot 22,, and the transverse strap '30 passes back under the bifuroations.-
I In this manner several bridles may be I 50- mounted upon each supporting arm 20, thgo opening and closure therefor, and a plurality of bridle supporting posts each having a central vertical-opening for the reception of the forehead straps of animal bridles when mounted on said posts secured to oneof the vertical walls of said container and 'eXtending outwardly therefrom, said posts being spaced apart and disposed in horizontal alinement, V i I i In testimony whereof I aflixrmy signature.
