IMPROVEMENT IN HARNESS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 175,444, dated March 28, 1876 application filed June 1'2, 1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, JOHN FISCHER, of the city of Louisville, in the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Ornamental Harness; and I do hereby declare that the tollowing'is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in

at the same time be much lighter and more elastic, and not so liable to injure the horse by its use.
This device or chain may be made as described, or, it necessary, the square links may be made of metal in part, and coated with rubber or gilt, if desired; but in all cases must be connected by leather straps, as shown in the drawing.
The device will be found more fully illustrated in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawing, in which A A are the square links, all of which are cut from heavy pieces of leather, and connected by means of leather strips or loops sewed securely between them, as shown in the drawing. B B are the connecting-loops above named.
Having thus fully described the nature and object of this my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s-
