This invention is an infants bath and drier, and the object is to provide a foldable bathtub and drier assembly, in a simple and practical form, and adaptable for seating upon the rim of a regular bath tub.

The invention comprises two end frames 1 each made up of two bars'2 pivoted together medially by thumb screws 3 and having arcuate Or hooked feet 4 adapted to engage the rim 5 of a regular bath tub 6. The frames 1 are locked together by four tie rods 7 A flexible drying or dressing table 8 is provided made of any suitable material such as canvas, and is formed by looping one margin of the sheet of material over an upper tie rod 7 as shown at 15, and similarly looping the free margin of the sheet over a free supporting rod 9 as shown at 10. Latches 11 are mounted upon the upper sides of two of the end bars 2, near the ends thereof, and these latches are adapted to releasably engage the ends of the supporting rod 9 when the same is pulled over to that side of the assembly, and which operation results in drawing the flexible table element 8 sufliciently taut to support the weight of the infant laid thereupon. - bath tub supporting rods 12 are extended between the bars 2, a rod at either side of the assembly, and a foldable bath tub element 13 is supported therefrom. This tub element may be formed of a blank 14 of suitable flexible material, such as rubberized canvas, the

.slips 17 adapted to engage supporting rods upper and two lower connecting tie rods exsame having opposite margins looped around the rods 12 as shown at 16, and having their other and opposite free margins folded upon themselves and sewn down to form end 18 which may be easily slid through said slips. The ends of the rods 18 are in turn supported upon the rods 12. Snap studs 19 are attached to' the body of the sheet of material 14 at the suitable points so that when the material is folded up to form the tub as stated, these studs 19 will register with grommets 20 seated in the blank material 14. By passing the studs 19 through these grommets 20, properly located in the material 1 1, the forming up of the tub will be completed. An apron or pocket strip 21 is suspended from the supporting rod 9 of the table element, and this apron has a number of pockets 22 formed therein for the convenience of the nurse or attendant, for placing therein brushes, soap and the like.

It will be noted from the foregoing description that this device may be readily set up in place upon the usual bath tub, and as readily removed and folded up when not in use. While the infant is being bathed in the tub, the table element is thrown back by releasing the rod 9 from the latches 11, after which the table is formed by returning the rod 9 into said latches. The tub 13 may then be drained by releasing the end portions through removing the rods 18 and releasing the studs 19 from the grommets 20. The expanded assembly may be rendered more rigid by turning up the thumb screws 8.

While I have herein described a certain specific manner and method of constructing and assembling the elements of my invention, it is understood that I may vary from the same in minor details, not departing from the spirit of my invention, so as best to construct a practical device for the purpose in tended, as defined in the appended claims.

I claim:

1. In a device of the kind described, two spaced end frames each made up of two bars pivoted together medially and having hooked feet for engaging the rim of a bath tub, two

In a device of the ind described, two spaced end frames each made up of two bars pivoted together medially and having hooked feet for engaging the rim of a bath tub,:two upper and two lower connecting tie rods extended longitudinally between the two spaced end frames, a flexible dressing or drying sheet having one margin fastened to one of the said upper tie rods, a free supporting rod fastened to the opposite margin of the said drying sheet, latches arranged near the up per ends of the two end bars opposite to the other two end bars supporting at one margin the said drying sheet, the said latches being adapted to releasably engage the said free supporting rod carrymg the opposite margin of the sai drying sheet, and a foldable bath 80 tub element mounted below the said drying sheet.
