IMPROVEMENT IN STEP-LADDERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 175,0] 6, dated March 21, 1876; application filed February 28, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I SILAS O. BLAUVELT, of Blauveltville, Rockland county, New York, have invented a new and Improved Step-Ladder, of which the following is a specification Figure l is a vertical section of my improved step-ladder arranged for use, and showing in dotted lines its position when arranged as a ladder; and Fig. 2 is a side view of the same folded for storage or transportation.

The object of this invention is to furnish an improved step-ladder which shall be so constructed that it may be readily arranged for use as a step-ladder or as an ordinary ladder, and may be folded together for storage and transportation, and, when adjusted for either purpose, will be held securely in place, and

In the curved edge of the blocks or plates 0 are formed three notches,G,in such position as to receive the pin 12 and lock the parts A B together when arranged for use as a stepladder and as a ladder, and when folded, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The blocks or plates 0, provided with the semicircular rear ends and the notches G, the pin b and the slot b, when used in connection with the pivot D and the parts A B of a stepladder, substantially as herein shown and described.
