An object of my invention is to provide a shoe constructlon which has novel means for rcmovably securing a heel to the shoe proper, whereby a worn heel may be removed and a new heel disposed 111 place.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the type described which has I novel means for securing the heel to the shoe so that it may be swung away from the shoe to be repaired if so desired.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the type described which is simple in construction, and durable and efiicient for the purpose intended;
Other objects and advantages will appear in the following specification, and the novel features of the invention will be particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, forming part of this application, in which 7 Figure 1 is a side elevation of a shoe embodying my invention,

In carrying out my invention I provide a body portion 1 having an outer sole 2 which extends from the toe portion 3 to the back portion 4. A stationary frame 5 is rigidly secured to the sole 2 adjacent the back portion 46 by any suitable means such as screws 6, see Figures 3 and 5. The stationary frame 5 is provided with a hinge portion 7 to which a movable frame 8 is pivotally secured.
The movable frame 8 has tapered walls 9 which extend inwardly so as to conform to the upper portion of a heel 10. The heel 10 is provided with a recess 11 which is square in 1929. Serial No. 368,240.

The movable frame 8 is provided with a pressed-out stop member 13 and a resilient stamped-out member 14. A latch or looking member 15 is pivotally secured to the sole 2, as at 16, and is provided with a handle portion 17 The heel 10 may be inserted in place in the movableframe 8 and held in the frame by the tapered walls 9 which have inwardly extending flange portions 18, see Figure 4..
When the movable frame 8 is swung into engagement with the stationary frame 5 the heel 10 will also be moved into engagement with the stationary frame and the retaining member 12 moved into the recess 11. The movable frame may be locked in place together with the heel by moving the locking member 15 over the resilient stamped-out member 1d and into engagement with the stop-member 13. The retaining member 12 holds the movable frame as well as the heel against lateral displacement while the locking member 15 holds the movable frame and heel in normal position as well as in engagement with the retaining member.
I claim:
1. A device of the type described comprising a body portion, a heel, means for removably securing said heel to said body por tion, said means comprising a stationary frame secured to said body portion, and a movable frame arranged to receive said heel and pivotally secured to said stationary frame.
2. A device of the type described comprising a body portion, a heel, means for re movably securing said heel to said body portion, said means comprising a stationary frame secured to said body portion, a movable frame arranged to receive said heel, said movable frame being pivotally secured to said stationary frame, and means for holding said movable frame against displacement.
8. A device of the type described comprising a body portion, a heel, means for removably securing said heel to said body portion, said means comprising a. stationary frame secured to said body portion, a movable frame arranged to receive said heel, said movable frame being pivotally secured to said stationary frame, and means for holding said movable frame and said heel adjacent said stationary frame.
4c- A device of the type described comprising a body portion, a heel, means for removably securing said heel to said body por- 10 tion, said means comprising a stationary frame secured to said body portion, a movable frame arranged to receive said heel, said movable frame being pivotally secured to said stationary frame, means for holding said movable frame and said heel adjacent'said stationary frame, and means for holding said heel and said movable frame against lateral displacement.
5. A device of the type described compris- I ing a body portion, a heel, means for removably securing said heel to'said body portion, said means comprising a stationary frame secured to said body portion, a movable frame arranged to receive said heel, said movable frame being pivotally secured to said stationary frame, means for holding said mov able frame and said heel adjacent said stationary frame, and means carried by said movable frame for securing said movable frame 0 to said heel.
