Within thel grooves or slideway provided by t'hefgrooves 8 isfitted a slidable panel 11 of opaque`v material lsuch as wood, metal or f composition 4material if desired, but preferablywoodjsince the same is light, although metal may be used in view ofits strength and additional protection provided. This panel is adapted to move in a pocketformed between the two sides of the door, preferably to slide up andv down' vertically and may bel operated in the same manner vas'automobile windows or in any other well known inanner. v i
-As shown, it k'isprovided' with a handle 12 indicated at 121 near the lower edge of the andl corresponding to a similar panel 16A "at the outer yside of the door. These lower panels 16 arefitted in the recesses 10 and secured thereto in any well Vknown linanner'. Thesepanels are arranged below the Vcross. strips 17-xextending between and confnecting the side sections 5' and seated in the opposite recesses 10'..

It will be apparent from Figure 2 of the drawings that the transparent burglar proof. and bulletproof glass panels rest upon the cross strips 17 between which latter the movable or slidable panel 11 may pass due to thel spacing of said strips 17 andv it is obvious that vthe panels 18 may be of'any suitable transparent material other than glass as longfas the sameis lburglar proof and bullet proof.
The strips 17 preferably have. ribs 'or tongues20 which extend upbetween the movable panel 11 and the transparent means or panelsas clearly.. shown in Figure 2..l TheV vertical stripsv21 are provided on the panels 16'spaced from the side'sections 5 and connecting thel bottom section l7 and'strips 17. The shank 13 isturned into a notch 15 to hold the panel 11 raised.
The panel 11 preferably terminates near the bottom of the opposite strips 17 as indicated in dotted lines in Figure 1 and as shown in Figure 2 while the panels 16 provide a space between them at the bottom to accommodate the panel 11 whenlowered by movement of the handle 12 and yits shank 13 inthe slot 15 when turned and disengaged from a support-A ing position in the notch 15 and lowered by the occupant from the inside.
