This invention relates to an awning structure, of the spring controlled rolling type, more especially to thatclass of awning structures for use inconnection with doors, win- 3 dows, etc., but-more particularly to the doors and windows of automobiles, and. an object of the inventionis to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, an awning structure of the type referred to which can be readily and m conveniently mounted within the frame of a windowor door and when so mounted can be conveniently ,adjusted,;to position the awning body in projected relation at an angle relativeto the window-cor door, or extended in a vertical plane with respect to the window or door'cfor shutting out light from without, and with the structure being of novel form and including means whereby the awning body is maintained taut when adjusted relative tothe window or doQr, and further will be automatically rolled up when not in use and furthermore whereby the awning structure is so constructed and arranged that it will not in any manner detract from the ap-' pearanceof a window or door piece, either when the awning body is extended when in use or rolled up when not in use.
-A further object of the invention is to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, an awning structure of the spring controlled rolling type including means to permanently maintain the awning body, when extended taut at all times. f

A further object of the invention isto provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, an awning structure of the spring controlled rollingtype, includingflmeans whereby the awning body can be employed as a shade or blind and when employed as a shade will be 0- disposedin a vertical position exteriorly of i or within a vertically adjustable glass panel forming an element of a window or door now employed in automobiles, or in other words providing means whereby the awning body cm be adjusted atvarious angles with respect ;to the window or door to' provide a canopyand also shifted to a vertical;posi
tion to constitute'a blind or shade arranged exteriorly or'interiorly with respect to the transparent panel of'a window'o'r'door.
Further objects of the inventionv are to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth,
an awning structure of the spring controlled rollingvtype, which is comparatively, simple in its construction and arrangement, strong,

In a rolling awning structure of that type including a spring controlled awning body adjusting means extendible from a window frame, a combined attaching, pivoting and latching means for an arm of said adjusting means comprising a vertically disposed supporting bracket for connection to a side rail of the Window frame and having its outer side face opposing said arm throughout when said adjusting means is in closed position, said bracket having its lower end part formed with a set of forwardly directed ratchet teeth capable of being selectively engaged by the free end of said arm to latch the latter, a bodily shiftable and pivoting disc opposing the lower end part of said outer side face, means to provide a pin and slot connection between said disc and the lower end of said bracket and with the pin providing a pivot for said disc, and means for attaching said disc to and oflsetting it adjacent the free end of said arm so that when in closed position said arm will completely oppose the outer side face of said bracket.
