Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 174,482, dated March 7, 1876; application filed February '3, 1876.

In lever-cutters it is desirable that the knife should bear against the throat of the facing a with increased pressure at the side of the throat farthest removed from the pivot of the lever, and in use this pressure needs to be increased by readjustment from time to time. In this mechanism I attain such adjustment by having the bolts 6 6 run through slotst' i in the leaf f, which makes the two leaves d f adjustable one upon the other.
I claim as my invention The combination of the frusto-conical disk 9, facing a, stationary fingers h h, and adjustable finge'r It, all substantially as described.
